The Long Ships - an oldie but a goldie
Have been looking for this film for sometime based upon childhood memories of a rip roaring viking adventure, and I wasn't dissapointed! Making allowances for when the film was first produced (mid 60's) it has proved a watchable and more than enjoyable yarn of treasure hunting norsemen against civilised eastern nobles ( well civilised till they produce the "iron horse", enough to bring tears to a red blooded mans eyes). It ranks up there with films such as The Vikings, 13th warrior etc so if you want an easy, enjoyable evening watching the bad guys get their just deserts this is for you.
