Poison Pearce!!

Season 6. If you've bought the other 5 or read my reviews (thanks for taking the time, hope they made sense!) you'll know what to expect. 10 episodes making up a season of quality drama in the lifes of the firefighters of Blackwall fire station.
Two new recruits kick off the season; Billy Ray transfers in from the almost redundant rival station Shadbrook and Geoffrey "Poison" Pearce moves up from Bristol and soon manages to rub everyone up the wrong way. Early indications of the kind of man he will be come to light in the trial of Bayleaf that runs throughout the season following a collison responding to a "shout". After that it isn't too long until he's getting his knives out and stabbing who he can in the back in order to look better himself. And just when you think it couldn't get any worse, his wife arrives. Lady MacBeth has nothing on this lady for manipulation! Sally Reed also joins later in the series as a replacement driver in light of Bayleafs accident.
"Shout" wise, the most impressive include a petrol station going up following a joy-ride collision & an office blocks' scaffolding collapsing into the street. Everything seems realistically filmed for the time without the aid of CGI and in my belief is all the better for it. And the humour is done well to break up the drama of the fires. Check out Nicks face when he finally meets the father of the girl he's been seeing...quality!
The season ends on a real bombshell with one regular character seriously injured and facing the future out of the brigade and another looking at a chance of promotion away from the front-line.
Not long til season 7 I hope!
