Lite On DD-A110 DVD Recorder

I Am the manager of calderdales premier dance group The ATOMIC ANGELS dance display team, we perform all over the british isles for all kinds of events and all our performances are recorded both for our own records and also for portfolio's, the machine is small & compact and does everything that we need it to do plus more, and for the price that we paid it was an absalute gift.

for the most part this is an excellent recorder for a great price, and indeed it seems that way on paper - it records on most formats, plays back MPEG-4 files and does pretty much anything else you'd expect from a DVD recorder. The only things that really let it down, aside from its slightly slow (but by no means unbearable) startup time are its remote, which is quite frankly useless (it resembles the sort of remote you'd get with a cheap TV tuner card), and the fact that, as far as I can tell, there's no way to browse a menu of files on a disc with .avis burned on it - for a disc with a large number of files organised in folders, this can be a bit of a pain in the arse. Can't really fault its recording or other playback functions though - it'd be an easy 5/5 if it came with a decent remote.

when my old dvd recorder suddenly got attack of the gremlins i looked on ebay for a replacement.I chose this model purely on the price as it was a reconditioned machine.It does everything i expected of it bit slight niggle is the delay time between pressing buttons and anything happening on machine - bit disconcerting until i got used to it. Otherwise "it does exactly as it says on the tin" as the saying goes.Good machine for the price.

We purchased this DVD recorder (from Tesco) last August. The performance of the unit itself is excellent - however, beware the "Flat" remote with the awkward membrane type buttons. Having downloaded the full manual from Liteon, this unit has been supplied with two different remote controls - an "ordinary" looking one with buttons, and a flat one as described above which we unfortunately had. After 4 months of light use, the menu button has ceased to function, preventing easy access to most of the functions. Tesco are unable to replace the remote or the complete unit (no stock left), and having spoken to Liteon, they claim that these items were sold to Tesco at a knock down price that did not include any warranty cover from them (Liteon). Buy this item and you will be pleased with it, but preferably make sure it does not have the flat membrane remote.

This budget DVD recorder is an excellent buy,currently available on ebay and elsewhere on the net at around £39.00. its a steal.

The first thing that you notice is its compact size. At less than the width of an A4 sheet of paper you can install it anywhere without it taking up any space at all. A real plus point for me as it is the same stacking size as my Teac 33 Hi-Fi seperates and even smaller than the Sky recorder
Using the Lite- On really is simplicity itself. The menu is the least complicated I have seen and its easy to setup and to record.

Simple `one touch 'recording means you can be recording your favourite TV or Sky + programs to DVD in moments.

The unit I purchased did seem a tad slow in reading discs when playing and recording however it was no slower than any other unit I have used and may have been down to the cheap(Woolworths/ C0-op ) DVD's I was using .I have now ordered some better quality blanks to try.

I found it very easy to set up. I have SkyB+ and so I plugged the scart from the Sky recording unit into the Lite-on scart input and the TV scart into the Lite 0n output and thats all there is to it. If you have just a TV then you would plug your TV aerial into the Lite-On and connect the Lite on to your TV with a scart lead.
I have a wireless transmitter and receiver to transmit satelite signal from my sitting room to the kitchen LCD TV . I tried connecting the Lite-On between the wireless receiver and the LCD Tv in the kitchen again with no problems at all.

The unit was supplied with 2x scart leads and a S video audio lead and the `quick setup guide' foldout sheet was well laid out and very straightforward. If you are the sort of person who dreads wading through pages and pages of manuals and technical guides then this DVD Recorder is for you.

Small, neat unit. Very easy to set up and operate. Good Quality recordings. A bargain at the price paid.

Basically for £50 including delivery for a dvd recorder that reads near enough any file format I could throw at it which means I can download a film and put on a disc in 2 minutes and be watching it , simply amazing for the money could do with an s-video connection but shouldn't grumble really :-)

I've bought 3 now for members of the family very happy with it.

You can not go wrong. My friend needed a Muti regional player at a low cost and this was it, not only was it multi region it was a DVD Recorder!! WOW.
This little machine in my opinion was a great buy i have never seen a DVD player Play all these fomats for under £40. I bought this for my friend and when it was delivered (quickly) I wished i bought 2.

I bid for this item because I already owned this model and have found it to be an excellent machine. It is very compact; the controls are easy to understand and operations are carried out quickly. I was so pleased with my original purchase from Tesco (who no longer list this machine), that I wanted to install a second one in another room, and thus have a replacement for my main machine should it be needed in the future.

This is an excellent spec product available at the right price.It was the size i needed and in the colour i wanted, black.The manufacturers website was first class, i was able to download the latest software and print out the instruction manual for free.The remote control is easy to use with some quick tools to make operations easy.

Although a nice little machine was sent with a remote control that didn't work. Seller didn't reply for two days. Was then asked to return broken control at cost to myself ( over £6,as seller insisted be posted by first class if wanted to recieve new one asap ) Took seller a futher 5 days to send another remote although I posted the broken one 1st class. Communication was very limited and strained. I personally would never buy from this seller again.

I've had a LiteOn DVD recorder for a year or two now and am really pleased with it. Controls are simle; even the missus can use it.

My son already had one & said it was a good make we have tried it & we agree its easy to use must be if i can do it .

Excellent performance for the money. Does exactly what it say on the box and even writes to certain older DVD - Rs that my onboard DVD writer won't recognise.

First class bit of kit at a bargain price, a little slow to read disc but after that it's so easy to use and the picture quality is excellent

I was looking for an easy to use reasonably priced DVD recorder and was a little unsure when I first saw this product. Having read all the description/function I decided to give it a go.
The function,quality and ease of use makes this a very good buy indeed. It was easy to set up and simple to use with excellent results, I would advise anyone looking to start recording to DVD to try this model.

What did I like about this DVD player, it was small and compact, it is being used to play DVD's about the Bullwood Project, and all that goes on at the project, we take it to different venues and it is easy to ste up and use.
Good all round wee player and recored. a Good buy.

I am very pleased with this product. The specifications fitted my requirements exactly. It arrived in perfect condition within three days of purchase. I have no adverse comments to make about it or the service

This DVD recorder is certainly small but I bought it for DIVX playback as well and in this regard it has limitations.

At first it would not playback any DIVX file without sound/picture synchronisation problems (lip-sync)the sound was about 1 second ahead of the picture. I upgraded the firmware to the latest and this was corrected.

The other criticism was the menu system for discs with multiple DIVX and AVI files. all the other players I have will give a menu of the files so that you can select the file you want to play. the DD-A110 did not allow this - the menu button on the remote results in the no-operation symbol. When a disc with multiple files is inserted the first file will begin to play. By pressing "next" the subsequent files can be played but I found that it only plays 5 files. If I put 8 files on one disc I can only play the first 5.

I also found the tuning very slow. To tune the channels it took about 20 minutes or more. If you decided to stop the process after a while it did not retain the channels found up to that point.

I LIKE THE SIZE AS IT IS SMALL, NICE DESIGN EASY TO USE AND AS ALWAYS ON EBAY A GOOD BARGAIN. I USE EBAY AS I FIND IT CONVENIANT FAST AND IN MY EXSPERIANCE HONEST SELLERS. THE TURN AROUND ON MOST SALES IS FAST ESPELEY IF YOU HAVE PAYPAL.
