Received as a gift for my birthday having mentioned I liked Grace Kelly, Life in Cartoon Motion, far surpassed any expect ions.
It seems pretty unbelievable that 12 months ago no one had heard of Mika, then Grace Kelly exploded onto the music scene. With 11 tracks on this CD, it is far too short for my liking, and I sincerely can not wait for the next Mika CD, having heard this CD, I would gladly and happily go and see him perform live
Mika on this CD has combined a number of musical styles - all of which feel as fluid and comfortable as the last.
The first track is Grace Kelly, which led to Mika's cult Gay following, then the second track is uptempo with a corking beat called Lollipop.... I dare not put the lyrics on here, but it is so very very catchy do not be surprised if every under 10 year old will know the lyrics if it is released as a chart single...! It has a catchy bit in the middle which is sung by a child - can't say too much without giving it away - just listen!
Billy Brown, another track on the CD is absolutely corking, about a man and his conventional life, who fell in love with another man, an absolute scream.
The fourth Track is the very popular "Everybody's going to Love today" catchy and upbeat and again a totally different Genre from anything else on the album.
Of course this CD includes a track, which has to be one of my favourites Big Girl you are beautiful, an anthem for any woman who feel's pressured to lose weight - why bother!
I would heartily recommend this as a great stocking filler for anyone with a sense of fun, it is a very entertaining CD,
:)
Happy listening
