I have been using all sizes and makes of CF cards for many years as a pro photographer and while my make of preference has been SanDisk, I have the utmost respect for Lexar as well. I am starting to become as big a fan of these as my trusted Sandisks, and that's for me at least, some recommednation. These later higher speed cards are really excellent and I would recommend them to anyone who needs a reliable and quick card.
As I've said before in previous reviews I've written, in all things mechanical or electrical, faults can occur and in my opinion, it's safer to have several smaller capacity cards than one big one. If the big one breaks then you've lost all your shots, if one of several smaller ones breaks, then you still have all the others left. Big in this instance, could be too big! 2GB is a good compromise I feel and I have plenty at this size, but none bigger (yet).
I'm not suggesting these cards are un-reliable, far from it, I've found them to be quick to format and save files to and very reliable. I have been let down by CF cards, but not a Lexar yet. I have plenty of old Lexar cards that I've been usng for years and they're still in use today.
Make sure you get an original, of course, there are so many fakes around, but there's also plenty of reviews about that subject anyway. In the meantime, happy snapping.
