Album Notes
The Beatles: George Harrison, John Lennon (vocals, guitar); Paul McCartney (vocals, bass, guitar, piano); Ringo Starr (drums).Additional personnel: Billy Preston (keyboards). The last Beatles' release of new material (although it was recorded before ABBEY ROAD) features songs recorded live in the studio and at the famous "rooftop session." On the back of the sleeve is the ironic note: 'This is a new phase Beatles album'. The new phase being, here are four maturing men growing apart and desperately needing a break from each other. The accompanying film is too painful to watch, as tempers fray and tension is in the air. In addition to the title track, only 'Get Back' and maybe 'Long And Winding Road' rate as great Beatles songs. The others are all brief entertainments and scraps of tunes. Lennon and Harrison had already moved on in their heads and McCartney was left to paste it together. The overwhelming feeling of this album is one of incredible sadness.

The Beatles are perhaps the greatest popular musicians of all time, and when you listen to this album you will understand why. Not their best album, but still plenty of incredible songs on here - that will never go out of date. Incredible Stuff. Guaranteed something for everyone.
Everything from the Sleeve to the music is Legendary - Plus in HMV/Virgin these beatles albums are always around 12-15 so grab yourself a bargain.

There is nothing I dislike about this Beatles album. The great thing now is being able to play it in the car. It does provoke the odd lump in throat as it brings back faces from over the years. Oh, well. That isn't a bad thing. Listen to the way George plays lead in Let It Be, very well produced at the time. Do I need to say more? It compares very well with the recent revamp, and should be listened to AS WELL, not INSTEAD, and vice versa. E-Bay gives the ideal forum to obtain these albums with good value and minimum fuss.
