Leonard Cohen - Greatest Hits (CD 1998)

Leonard Cohen is an artist who will survive the test of time. I have many memories of him from my teenage years, and it was so good to hear that voice again! However, I have been telling my daughter about Cohen for years and actually bought this CD for her 30th birthday - she thinks he's as brilliant an artist as I do.

I bought this for the memories, had been thinking about it for a while. I remember sitting around a camp fire as a teenager singing Suzanne. It's not the kind of c.d you listen to very regularly but take it out for nostalgic listening.
It's pure poetry.

Leonard Cohen a timeless artist, unique in style. I think he's like "Marmite" you love his music and lyrics or hate it. A great songwriter and musician.

The CD is entitled "GREATEST HITS" but is a long way short of that,as he has many more than 12 greatest hits......but this one is a really good CD for the 'new' Leonard Cohen conscripts and is an ideal start for them.Absolutely SUPERB is this CD,if you ain't got it?....get it!!.....

I am having a renewed love affair with the poet. Having been a fan since the 1960's I've now had reason to listen to the poetry to music. After seeing a documentary on the T.V about Leonard Cohen remembered all his old songs and decided once again to buy the CD's. Loving every moment of listening.

What a fantastic seller, brand new CD as described you could tell it was brand new as there were no fingerprints on it and a fair postage rate, well worth dealing with and honest to boot.

Every home should have at least one Lenoard Cohen CD in its' music collection and this is probably the best one to own.

I rememeber this from when I was an impressionable teenager and thought it was beautiful. Unfortunately I now find it grating and rather boring! Sad but true. we all have to grow up.

Bought after listening to a radio 4 profile of this singer Leanard Cohen and I am ashamed to say that I had never heard of him he is a wonderfull poet/lyracist

This reminds me of my teenage years. I think you either love or hate his songs but the poetry is fabulous

Poetic is not the word. The man is pure auditory bliss. Anyone who considers Cohen pessismitic hasn't listened or has been misinformed. A joy.

I recently was told about Leonard cohen and wanted to sample some of his stuff. i was please to see how cheap this cd cost me and will this will hopefully inspire me to purchase more cd's from his collection

I had wanted a copy of this cd and did'nt think I would be able to find it as it is quite old, I found it here on ebay, it arrived as described, new and in perfect condition, i was very pleased with their service and the delivery was fast. I would definately buy another cd from badlands.

I have loved Leonard Cohen's music since the early 70s I had this disc but due to excessive use it was damaged, so Iv now replaced it. Cohen is remise of poets' back to the days of when poets' read their works aloud in caffes' as open minded artistic students took a bite from his cherry and passed it on, listing him alongside the likes of Bob Dylan. (One of his recent recordings was used on the Saprano's)

His lyrics have mixed meaning that any one can relate to, the tunes are easy on the ear as soothing background or can be the chosen topic of conversation.

No one is too old or too young to appreciate Cohen's craggy, yet velvety voice & that special blend of music.
Overall, I was pleased to have a fresh copy without a scratch!
