Legend (DVD 2002)

A nice family fantasy film, with a very young Tom Cruise, the effect look a bit dated but still an enjoyable film.


Plot Summary:

Jack (Tom Cruise) and his allies have a small quest to perform.

To defeat the Lord of Darkness before he creates ‘eternal night’ by killing the last unicorn.


There are two version of this film, one made specifically for the American market with the soundtrack produced by Tangerine Dream, the other version the soundtrack is by Jerry Goldsmith. There is a edition with both version of the films.

i used to watch this movie when i was little, i just had to buy it again to remember what it was like.

the graphics and the costumes are awesome for a film created so long ago, if not a little fightening at times!! {it was made when descretion wasn't a must, so it is scarey at times, for younger children... i must admit, i was amazed on how scared i was at times!! ;)}

if you like romance and fairytale creatures,ie. unicorns and goblins, this is a must!

This is an alltime rare classic for all the family to enjoy even better than most fantasy films today.

Delivery was quick which was good as I needed it as a Christmas present. The dvd was of good quality and my children enjoyed it very much.

This is a great movie to settle down to on a weekend for a fantasy hideaway, there is plenty of wierd and colourful characters to warm to. This is one of those films that keeps your interest and a film you would go back to watch again.

one of tom cruises early films its a magical tale of unicorns devils and true love. in this story a young girls is taken by a devil (tim curry) to be his dark bride but a young boy (tom cruise) sets out to find an rescue is true love love will he save her before she turns to the dark side well buy it an watch it.

I saw this film as a youngster, and it captivated me. the characters work together an absolute treat, and as a devil, who better? And who couldn't be friends with brown tum? Buy it now or face eternal damnation in the same pit as the evil one!!!

I remember watching this film when i was a little girl and i really enjoed it. I hae always loved fantasy films i love all thing with faries goblins ect in.
I brought this film so my children can enjoy it as much as i have done. I think tom cruize looked cute but i think he has gone a bit .loopy lol

this is a classic cult film which deserves more recognition for what it had,Ridley scott is a god in my view,his eye for detail and the whole affect of this pays off.

A film from my younger days still just as magical now. Tom cruise before he went a little loopy. Would ask any body who loves fantasy to watch.

Takes u back to a fairytale land, with a dark edge.. superb! I thoroughly enjoyed this film now as I did when I was youngster.

this film does not have the Tangerine Dream soundtrack which unfortunately really makes the film for me. why is it so hard to find this film under region 2 with the "proper" soundtrack?

soundtracks are important to me in general but in this case its the difference between and okay film to a outstanding fantasy film.

If fantasy is what you are lookin for then Legend is loaded with it. From the mystic atmospheric sets to the amazingly elaborate costume designs. This traditional fairy tale with a dark twist battles good against evil in a forest inhabited with pixies, fairys, a woodland inhabiting boy names Jack and a beautiful princess. From beginning to end, this classic movie takes you on an enchanting journey and if you love Tim Curry you will love his portrayal as the Lord of Darkness. Simply a great classic.

I saw this film years ago!! and it always stuck with me, I saw it on ebay and decided to buy it and see if it was as good as I remembered........ It was even better, this is a fairy tale at its best, the acting is fab, the film is visually stunning, I cant recommend it highly enough.

I saw this film a few years ago on TV & I thought it was brilliant, so I thought lovely rainy day film for the kids I must get it. The film last 90 mins, which for me isn't long enough. It is directed by Ridley Scot stars Tom Cruise as the hero, forest dweller Jack. Jack is in love with a mortal princess called Lili. One day whilst in the forest Jack decides to show Lili a secret magical place which is the home of two beautiful unicorns. Lili is so captivated by these creatures that she must touch them, that is when the world starts to turn black & icy because the Lord of Darkness also wants the unicorns & sends out his evil goblins to capture them. They capture a unicorn & Lili. The Lord of Darkness has fallen in love with Lili & in order to turn the world as black as pitch for ever, he must kill the unicorns & marry Lili.
It is up to Jack with the help of fairies, pixies & little people to rescue Lili, free the unicorns & defeat the Lord of Darkness before he can turn the world into darkness forever. Is Jack strong & courageous enough to defeat evil & win the love of a Princess? If you love to drift off to a magical place for an hour or two, then I recommend this fantastic film.

Wonderful fantasy. Great story of fairies, goblins and many underworld baddies, can see potential in this boy Cruise !

I have liked this fiml sinse it first came out and I never tiere of it. The sound track is excellent by Tangeren Dreem and the makeup on Tim Curry as The Dark Lord was prise winning.

I have always enjoyed Riddly Scott moves and this one is still very entertaining.

This film is beautiful to look at - really amazing. It captures absolutely perfectly the slightly dark and disturbing nature of many classic fairy tales. Tim Curry is extraordinary in this film, grotesque but somehow seductive. The sets are magnificent and the horses used to portray the unicorns are brilliant. I guarantee that artistically it will blow your socks off - it's a real eyeful!

i bought this film for christmas,as i had seen this film before,and wanted to have my own copy,i think this was tom cruise first films to appear in,a wonderful actor...a film full of myths and legends and very enjoyable to watch...thanks linda

i bought this item as my mum always used 2 put it on 4 me when i was little!it reminded me of my childhood and watchin it brouht back loads of good memories!
