i have watched lotsw since about 1980 it originally started in 1975 with series one which i personally did not like and series two was slow as well i started watching the series about seven or eight so all i have known is the magnificent trio comsisting of brian wilde (foggy) peter sallis (cleggy) and last but not least (compo) played by the late bill owen so i have seen them up to all sorts of hilarious stunts on the yorkshire moors for many years i think the mixture of the characters is fantastic hats off to the bbc i bought series three and four on dvd because i wanted to see how this trio got together in the begining plus i love the program so much i want to collect the whole lot on dvd instead of vhs you will not be dissapointed the scenery is beutifull and its good clean fun and it makes the thought of retirement more tolerable

For me Summer Wine is the best thing to happen to the world of entertainment in so many ways ,the characters ,story lines and comedy situations are without equal. Add to that the shear nostalgia and professionalism of the actors ,writers and all connected with the programmes and you have a winner every time.Only a handful of tv programmes ever approach that standard.

Arrived in good condition just what I ordered,I can't imagine life without the threesome it has taken me back over thirty years laughed until i cried. think it should carry a health warning it's so very funny

I loved this series,when it first came to the greatest thing ever the television ,the story line is not only witty ,but fantasticly sharp . I only wish that the shows of today ,would be as great fantastic brilliant ,the best ever for comedy television.

Well it is great to watch these well made classics, everyone young and old can watch and is also great family entertainment for all!

i bought this dvd for my brother who is mentally handicapped. he got series 1 and 2 for christmas and laughed his head of. he is a big fan and has visited the place where it is filmed many times.

This long running series is well worth watching. The antics of these aging adolescents make for many a good laugh. Yorkshire based series that is comedy at its best.

The series has stood the test of time and despite changes in personnel they all fit into the same village and all types of human nature is shown - with a comic twist. A gem of a series - tends to be more popular in the north of England than in the south, it's not the accents which aren't indecipherable at all it's more a case of the differing humour types. I've got almost all the series (around 30) on VHS but am looking to upgrade my collection - some of the videos are wearing out!
