Album Notes
The La's includes: Lee Mavers, John Power, Peter James "Cammy" Camell, Neil Mavers.Engineers: Mark Wallis, David Charles, Donal Hodgson. The perpetually disenchanted Liverpudlians grumbled their way through most of their interviews. Scathingly perfectionist, they dismissed most of their output with a metaphorical wave of the hand, compliments bounced off them in all directions, but for the La's, it was never enough. It is hard now to see why they were so dissatisfied; THE LA'S is a graceful, sweeping and rather grand pop record, utterly charming and filled with a meek beauty typified by the wonderful "There She Goes" single, the sincere "I Can't Sleep" and the shining "Timeless Melody". Great moments.
