LG LV-880 VHS VCR

i just wanted a replacement vcr that worked i have not been disappointed by the lg the still is outstanding even on tapes not recorded in this machine in my experience this can be a problem but not for the LG it does everthing it says on the box and does it well i am happy to reccomend this machine to anyone.

I mainly bid on the item as I liked the low price, but doing some research on Goodle for the specs, I was even more interested.
This is both a very simple unit to use due to the good remote and the On Screen Display OSD which is very simple to follow, making programming a doddle. Its got some really useful features that you would expect to find on a much more expensive recorder. The only let down was you seem to need to set the clock and date manually, instead of it doing this automatically from TeletextAlso the timer/tape counter on the front panel display seems not to be easy to set. Although, may be I've missed something in the menus.
Its also surprisingly compact and light weight, and is quite attractive with its modern silver finish
All in all its a good reliable good sounding stereo VCR with long play, on screen display, 2x scarts and general easy to use.
So buy one, at the right price on eBay!

I bought this vcr after the last one broke down, it was brand new and one of the best buys I have ever made.

Great budget end VCR, works good and does what is says on the box, a bit fiddly setting it up, but then I got a 5 year old to help and all was well!!

Fantastic vcr. Records well and plays well. Remotes easy to use. Programmeing channels isnt to bad make sure you follow manual intently as auto search didnt pick them up on mine. To save energy you can push the on/off button on the vcr itself and all lights of clock etc go off. Its easy to use and best vcr ive ever had it automatically does tracking so you dont have picture rippling or jumping when your playing a tape back. Its great all round.

A very reasonably priced but good piece of equipment which was easy to set up. Well worth the money and a must for somebody who doesn't really want to get rid of treasured videos through lack of a player.

I liked the design and the price I disliked the poor instructions and dificulty of setting up V C R even my grandson found it cofusing! also dispite being assured that it operated video plus it does not.

Clock not synced with Teletext.(would not work after analogue transmissions stopped anyway)
No Video+ (only available on LV-890)

All round a good buy, though the On screen menu may confuse some.
Ideal to watch all those old VHS tapes, auto-tracking is excellent, and can get a quality picture from a 20+ year old tape!.

why keep a vhs player,well not all movies will ever be released on blu ray,so buy the only stand alone unit left,great picture and sound,auto tracking,hifi sound,ntsc play back,and a must widescreen,I have seen some reviews of this video which do not give it a good rating,well I have had one running for a month now and find it is tops for playback and recording,set up right it is as good as super vhs,wait till its gone then people will moan,go buy now

Good Basic machine does almost as it says in the instructions which are very basic. Ideal for watching some of those old videos.
