Everybody's Looking For That Lil' Bit Of Honey....
I watched a show on Kula Shaker about a year back. They seem one of those bands that kinda disappeared into the background until you actually listen to the music being played on adverts. And since then, it's been one of those things I've been consciously trying to remember to buy. Browsing eBay, I found a cheap copy of it, man, I'm so glad I did.
The album "K" itself encompasses everything that was hip, cool, and rebellious about the 90's in the UK, but has that distinct new millennia vibe to it. Incredibly influenced by Indian Music, relaxing, yet upbeat. Enticing, yet mood enhancing. The lyrics are simply amazing, and can be reflected upon in many ways. The use of guitar and synth really drag everything we'd preconceived about Eastern music out in the cold. Guitars shredding with a slight undertone of the sitar, drumming enhanced by bongo's ... it can alter your mood in so many ways, does music get any better than this?!
