This product is incredibly easy to use, every screen is simple to understand and executes quality in every dimension. The different functions of the camera are very easy to find and to use, the 'High ISO' function is amazing in the dark or very poor light, so much i infact believe it to be better then the smartscreen in terms of focus and picture quality. The software which comes with the device (Kodak Easyshare) is again simple and easy to use, everything pretty much sorts itself out but in a manner where the user has complete control.

my only dislike towards the product is the battery life of Normal AA's within the device but i suspect by using Kodak cells such as the rechargable type which are compatable it may increase the time of use. if not, least with rechargables i can carry a few arround with me and swap them over without causing any waste in terms of refuse.

Having used a fairly low spec digital camera for years, I decided to see if I could find me a better model.

The Kodak EasyShare Z1275 jumped of the page at me, it had loads of features that I wanted in one package, the 12 megapixel resolution is brought to life by a crisp 2.5 in. (6.4 cm) display, the controls are really easy to use too.

With a turn of the dial you can change between low light/portrait/macro or whatever that special shot needs, reviewing pictures you have taken is made so simple too with the use of albums that can be set up.

5x Optical/ 5x Digital zoom brings the action closer to you and the HD video recording (1280 × 720) at 30 fps with sound is a great little feature too, enabling up to 80 minutes of recording time or 2GB depending on the card used.

On-camera picture cropping, built in digital image stabilizer to prevent camera shake, smart scene mode where the camera can try and find the best style of picture (like panoramic), digital red eye reduction, this little camera has it all and more.

The KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology feature is a blessing after you have taken a picture that may be too dark or not what you hoped for (hey, we have all been there!), just select this handy option and you have a split screen that you can scroll about giving you a "Before & After" look at the photo you want to enhance.

When you select the yes option the picture is "optimised" to provide the best contrast and range of colours giving you a perfect shot every time.

A gem of a camera from Kodak, (mine was reconditioned by Kodak Labs, but that does not change my mind!) this is as user friendly as the total novice to photography could want, and as versatile as the enthusiastic snapper could wish to spend their time with.

Something for everyone in fact!

  The Kodak Eazy-share Z1275 - Excellent all-rounder

The first one of these I bought from the local camera store. It cost £129.95. Excellent camera, with a good, sharp-focus Schneider-Kreuznach X5 optical Zoom lens, and excellent quality 12MPixel very sensitive CMOS sensor, (good for fading daylight); enough pixels to crop and enlarge without picture quality compromise, pretty good for moving stuff, like athletes or heritage trains and a huge range of specialist settings from completely automatic right through to completely manual. I am using an 8 GB card so plenty of room for pictures, even with as many pixels as these, (there seems no limit on card capacity, but 8 suits me). No case supplied, but fits (just) a Tesco "value" range at £1.93! Rarely fails to get the picture I want, even on automatic, so "failed attempts" now almost a thng of the past, though do remember the processor lag before it takes the picture - my first few fast-moving steam trains were without smokebox until I got used to this! Disposable lithium AA batteries last for ages. Video capture pretty good (sound adequate). Won't fit comfortably in my trousers pocket, however (it's a bit big), and automatic apart, flash not variable. Auto very occasionally locks focus onto wrong item, and there's no way of altering this. (Ebay adverts erroneously tell me there is a Manual focus ring on the new Z1285 which has superseded the Z1275: this should fix this. Unfortunately, this is a myth; the specification is just the same as the Z1275, but Kodak tell me the component quaity is improved (and the price is increased), so I take it they've fixed some dodgy bits of plastic and are making us pay!). Good all-rounder, however - we have and use three of them in our immediate family, (and have many very attractive photos using them) so we must like them. Ours have in reality proved reasonably robust - my 4 year old's is still intact! Mine (the first) is well beyond its 12 month guarantee with no problems. All in all - one of my favourite cameras - recommended, particularly at around the fifty quid they can go for on ebay.

  My new camera.

I was looking for a new digital camera at the time, as the one I had at the time, had a broken flash, which meant I could only take pictures during daylight. I got that one free when I bought a computer, so never really worried about that. After reading up on digital cameras I wanted to get a really good one, say 8Mp or higher. I knew how clear the pictures were with my old 2Mp one, so I found the one I wanted on EBay, and was really surprised at the price of it. I had seen cameras of that standard going for £250 in the shops, and even on the Internet they were expansive.
So to find that 12Mp one for only £69.99 with P & P included, it was bargain. When it arrived I had to go online to down load the full instructions for it, and that was the only down side of the whole purchase really. Having said that, there were 72 pages of instructions, so it would have been quite a large book to post. I down loaded the instructions and put them on a disc, and spent ages reading through them, and I must admit they were easy to follow and not full of that technical stuff that you cant understand, and it was not long before I was clicking away and then zooming in on the pictures I had just taken, and was really surprised just how clear they were even after zooming right in on them.
It was just as well that I already had two sets of rechargeable batteries to put into it, as I must admit the ones that came with it did not last long, with me going through all the menu and trying out the zoom. Another thing that I found about this camera was, that I could actually crop my pictures while they were still in the camera, as you normally have to do that once it has been transferred into your computer. In fact it was not long before I was taking some really good pictures with it, and look forward to taking many more. It is without doubt the best camera I have ever owned, and what I really like about it, is that its so easy to use, you don't have to be a professional photographer to know how to use it. The fact that I got it on EBay and paid so little for it, also boosted my confidence with using EBay, as you hear of such horror stories about it, but I have been lucky really as every deal I have made or done on EBay has gone without any such problems at all. This camera must be the best bargain I have had on EBay.

I bought this camera because I was going to Egypt and discovered my expensive Cannon was broken. So I looked on EBay at the last minute for a cheap replacement until I went to Florida at Christmas where I intend to buy another Cannon.

For the money I paid I got a 12 mgp camera which is very easy to use and produces excellent photographs. The software is much better than the Cannon and to my amazement found with a couple of clicks I can email photos from the camera easily. The Kodak I bought was new and the latest model. I certainly got a bargin as the same on in Currys was £50.00 more.

This camera is good as you can print pics at the touch of a button and has a lot of different settings for each occasion and you can crop and save pictures however the only dissapointing thing is that although you can zoom in when looking at your pics you can't save the picture if it looks better zoomed in. You can only crop and save but not zoom in and save. Overall though it's a good camera.

I was looking for a simple to use camers that was compatible with my pc ie a digital camera. My Girlfriend is a dedicated technophobe so simplicity was an absolute must yet I'm very much a gadget guy so I didn't want simplicity at the cost of poor performance.

As soon as I saw the Z1275 I was impressed by its looks. Small and neat without shedloads of gadgets that would never have a use but nicely placed goodies that were an absolute must.

Once you realize that three quarters of the instructions are in a foreign language you can quickly read through the English ones in a few minutes and have a good working knowledge of the camera.

For its size the camera feels heavy and robust which is a good feeling and aids stability when using the camera on Zoomed shots.

Very much a point and shoot camera and the optical and digital zooms are easy to use and their differences aparent. Under full zoom not only the subject matter is magnified but also the smallest movement of the camera so there is an option of Digital Image Stabilization which will minimise camera shake and subject movement in the viewer.

Another excellent feature is the ability to half depress the shutter button so the camera focuses on the subject, a warning bleep will tell you when the camera is focused.

As yet I've not delved into the handbook to experiment with the cameras other features.

The only down side is the battery usage, they dont last long so a charger and a couple of sets of batteries are more or less a must.

All in all an excellent buy and I'd advise anyone looking for a good low cost cam with good performance (12 megapixel is more than good) to consider the Z1275

Review of Kodak EasyShare Z1275 Digital Camera

i really liked the fact that the digital camera is 12MP apart from this it is High Definition, even though it is a factory refurbished item it looks like new no one can really know that it has been through such a condition. with the one year manufacturers warranty, i dont need to worry about it getting faulty, i also like the 5X optical zoom lens it really captures things that are really far. The only thing i dont like about it is the AA batteries i need to be buying to power it. i would have preferred the ones that come rechargeable in which case i would have to worry about the AA batteries which brings about disorganisation.
the price for the camera and the extra bundles was the main reason i bought the camera. i know with that price i wouldnt get a good deal most especially with a 12MP digital camera

I bought this camera as I wanted a high megapixels at a budget price. The most I've used before was a 6 megapixel camera, so this was more of an experiment. I liked the design seen in the photos. This particular one is refurbished, I have had refurbished stuff before and have had no problem, plus this one came with a one year warranty. In the beginning I had a problem with battery power but found out with high power batteries 2500 ma or near then there was no more problem ( Kodak sends you two alkaline batteries which fizzle out quickly )I was a bit shook up at first thinking it was a camera fault. I was ready to send it back till I found out the problem. Anyway the good bit is that the camera is packed with features and shooting modes which I'm still trying out and enjoying, so far so good. It's a neat little camera and I am enjoying using it. I would say it is for the enthusiast as well as a beginner. Overall it's a good little camera for the price and you get 12million pixels to play around with. It also has a cropping facility in the camera edit which I like. I'ts extremely handy to carry around being so small. My only fear would be dropping it, as it's not a very robust bodywork like a canon powershot etc.,nevertheless if you have a good case for it and wristrap you should be okay. As I said I'm still trying the camera out, especially the various shooting modes which so far seem more reliable than just using auto mode. One last comment is I found the Kodak back up service to be very good. I had a few questions which were answered very quickly which I was pleased about. To me that's a good sign and not just that they want to get rid of some cameras and make a profit at our expense. Anyway hope this helps someone out there, sorry it's not very technical but you can probbaly find that there out on the web, regards JAM6846

If your looking for a straightforward digital camera I think this is hard to beat. Fast scene capture and really high quality pictures. The one thing that lets it down is that it chews up batteries faster than most other camera`s. I bought some rechargeable AA`s at 2500mah which will do about 60 shots with a mixture of flash, zoom and standard.

My kodak Z1275, is till now the best camera i've ever had. Small, light, beautifull & vivid colors, super definition (even on difficult lighting), and on tv 32''screen is more than perfect. . To be honnest i was rellactant to buy it, cause Sony ( which was my previous camera) was my prefference. Mmmm! now i think that no other camera can reach, not even a bit, mine. MY KODAK!!!.

This digital camera is great use. Its is very simple to operate and the enhanced features such as reduced shaking is auto effective thus the camera recognises when to switch modes based on the conditions of the picture being taken. The 12mp enusre you get rich and crystal clear quality photographs. The only drwaback is that the video clips audio output is not great. Also special high powered (2700+Mah?) batteries are esential.

  Can't go wrong with Kodak!!
Review created: 07/07/09

After accidently dropping my boyfriends last Kodak camera and cracking the screen, I needed a replacement!!! We looked at many different makes and models and really liked the looks of the Kodak EasyShare. We both own Kodak cameras and would not buy anything else now. Its small compact and we can take it any and everywhere without the hassel of it taking up too much room. It takes a very clear picture, 12mp 5x optimal and 3x digital zoom. Easy to upload all of our new pictures on the computer, a share option which makes it great for ordering pics online, fixing and cropping the pictures to our liking. We are both very happy with our new purchase and all the extras that came along with the camera, a stand, carry case, 2gb sd card, memory card and cleaners for the camera.... all at a more than reasonable price. Thanks Kodak, we truly do love your procuct and have yet to be any where near to being disappointed.
