The camera is Refurbished with works guarantee, which makes it (theoretically)
possibly better than New since it has been tested and adjusted ???.
I bought it for my daughter and her partner because they seemed to struggle with any of my other cameras when I loaned them!!
It's simple, it's clear, it's compact and it turns out very good images suitable for A4 prints. They like it...they don't borrow mine any more. What more could I ask My own preference is for something more substantially made like my Olympus 5060 or the Panasonic LC5 which feel like "real" cameras but it's a matter of taste/experience; I like the 5060 making a "click" noise when I press the button just like a traditional 35mm camera.

I had an easyshare camera before and it got dropped one too many times and will not work anymore so I bought this camera. I bought this because Kodak Easyshare is so easy to use and the camera is better than my last one with Zoom etc. It is a point and take picture which I like and you get software to easy use on your pc. I have no dislikes and can highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality, easy to use camera.

Practical ..... But Not Very Exciting!

The best thing about Kodak's C533 is that its very easy to use. The buttons are well placed and the menus are simple and clear. The Easyshare Software is a doddle to navigate and there's no doubting that the Kodak Docking Station/Printer (if you have one) is one of the best of the market. That said, the C533 disappoints with the quality of images produced when compared with other camera's of similar value and specification. Outdoor applications are just about acceptable but the C533 really struggles to produce a crisp and sharp image in low-light situations (indoors and hours of darkness). The small 1.5 inch LCD Screen is not the best for clarity and the build quality is surprisingly poor for Kodak. It is worth investing in a set of good quality rechargeable batteries as the C533 munches its way through normal ones at a fine old rate. If you are new to digital photography and want a cheap and reliable camera to start you off then the C533 is probably ok - any more than that and I'd advise looking at offerings from Canon, Fuji or Nikon.

Bought this for my sons 10 birthday,he picked it up and within minutes he was taken quality pictures. The video play back is excellent. The only down side is the battery life just make sure you have a spare set in your pocket. The camera easly fits in the pocket and it must be tuff my son hasnt broke it yet. Besides the battery life a very good camera indeed.

Wow this camera takes fantastic photographs. It is so easy to use (for an idiot like me) just point and shoot. You can't go wrong. Easy to use the zoom as well as takes great zoom photos. Its light and compact and I am really pleased I bought it. Only problem was the computer cable didn't work so awaiting a replacement and then I can transfer photos to laptop.

I bought this camera has a gift for my daughter and like most young people they just want to point it and take a good picture this camera does this and the other thing young people want to do is share their experiences with their freinds you can also do this with this camera , you can do this by useing the Kodak docking station or by a computer so overall this is a great little camera that is easy to use.

A Great Little Camera But A Touch On The Fragile Side!
Review created: 09/06/09(updated 09/06/09)
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

As the title says, this is a great little camera.

I have used the other half's C533 for taking my eBay item pictures since I have been selling and have also taken pictures of the family, various outdoor shots (out on the moors, on the beach etc.) and have indulged in the general 'point at something and click the shutter' style of photography most people subscribe to.

As a non professional photographer I have to say I have been very satisfied with the results of my clicking and on the rare occasion we have run prints off (onto real photo paper, at the local photography / art shop) I have been very impressed by the quality of the resultant prints.

Like most of the Kodak EasyShare 'C Series' this camera has a number of picture modes (controlled by the rotary dial on the top of the camera) but for most part these can (will!) be ignored. Just do what everyone else does, select the 'Auto' setting, point, click, repeat until bored and everything will be fine.

The only real exception is for close up work where the 'Macro' (close up) mode is required. This is enabled by selecting the 'Black Tulip' icon on the rotary dial.

The camera draws quite a bit of current so be sure to get a decent set of batteries; we have been using 2500mAh Ni-Mh Rechargeable R6 batteries from Maplin which come in a set of four but can be recharged in pairs which is really convenient - two in the camera, two in the charger. (Or the back pocket if you're going out for the day!)

As for the fragility I referred to in the title, I managed to break mine (or more accurately, the other half's) surprisingly easily last week.

I was taking a couple of pictures outside with the camera on a tiny tripod. To cut a long and tragic tale short there was a big gust of wind and it toppled sideways. I managed to catch it but it must have just touched the ground because the front part of the lens assembly (the end few mm which contains the auto lens cover) was hanging loose and later fell off leaving the camera lens unprotected.

Although it still functions perfectly as a camera I am somewhat loath to take it out anywhere for fear of getting dirt into the lens assembly and ruining it completely.

Maybe I'm being unfair to Kodak and this was a freak accident but I have ALWAYS been careful with cameras and am especially careful with other people's belongings. I am certainly NOT someone who throws their camera around with little or no regard. Some of the things I have seen people do with their cameras have certainly made me cringe!
So bear in mind, if this could happen to me it could certainly happen to almost anybody!

Anyway, it completely ruined my day (life? read on) and what's more I now have to fork out mucho dinero for a replacement plus, I'll never be able to mention the word 'camera' without being reminded of what I did...

Ok, so it might not apply to you but it is certainly something to bear in mind if you are looking at one of these cameras...

Regards
tbod

Kodak EasyShare C533 Digital Camera & Printer
Review created: 04/05/09
by:
tetx ( 130)

Bought this for my 80 year old mother-in-law, she loves to take photos but is not a talented photographer. A digital camera is great as we only need to print the good ones! She started with a theoretically much better quality Sony, which lasted a year before the lense got jammed completely.
This camera cost a lot less and feels a bit flimsy in comparison but she loves it and finds it much easier to use. It's not too small for her handle, the controls are obvious and it's just great for her level of use. I would say it suits the point and shoot photographer who is not looking for any technical gizmos.
The printer is a bit gimmicky, she hasn't used it and I only tried a couple of test prints, I found the colours a bit garish and think that the ink is expensive to replace, especially as they seem to come as a pack with the photographic paper which we don't need.

I decided to buy it because my husband is into that sort of thing, he was taking photos left right and center on christmas day,it kept him entertained for hours,i decided to get him the camera because our old digital camera was`nt working properly and i liked the look of this one and the fact you could print the pictures as you took them swayed me,the prints are very good quality.its the best item i have bought on ebay .
