Kodak DC240 Perfect for kids
Years ago I started out using the Kodaks, from the DC40/50/120 to the 240/280 and 3400. They were all good quality reliable and easy to use.
When it came to then buying cameras for my children this proved the acid test. The pictures they were able to take with the 240 were good, they sussed out all the functions with minimal effort and the solid casing meant it was able to withstand the inevitable knocks. It's not the smallest camera around but this means it isn't fiddly which makes it so easy to use. At the prices these now go for 2nd hand the 240 is ideal for a child's first or second camera, if it gets broken then you lost what £10 ish but it is more likely to give a great deal of pleasure for a long time to come.
