Superb although Nicholas cage is very moody. The special effects are amazing! Really enjoyed this film although the ending was a little lame.Definately keeping this for my collection and I will be watchin it again in the not too distant future.

  This one gets you thinking!

I like Nic Cage so bought this knowing it was a sci-fi, which is my favourite kind of film. Very intriguing story line, really got you thinking. Not keen on kids in films usually (leads to sentimentality), however these were not too bad & did not interfere too much with the action & momentum of the story.

Good special FX and thoughtful storyline

Typical Nicholas Cage film where you have to stop and think what if.
Not everybodies cup of tea though, and you might have to watch the film a couple of times to fully understand the story line.
Unfortunatly I fell asleep half way through it ,not through boredom but because I started to watch it too late in the day ,but on rewind story still made sense.

A good film with excellent special effects, worth watching just for the plane and underground disaster scenes. Starts off well paced, slows a bit in the middle then takes an odd turn with a slightly un-expected ending thats a little far fetched perhaps! Worth watching and enjoyable, but not an all time classic.

  Knowing (Nicholas Cage)
Review created: 03/09/09

Nicholas Cage stars in the all new "Knowing". The story behind this thriller is based on a form of premenition. It all begins with a girl that can see future disasters before they happen. Obviously she is seen as a complete recluce and outcast. She records these "premenitions" in number form and places them in a time capsual. The whole film kicks off when Jhon's (Nicholas Cage) son Cayman receives this list when the time capsual is resurfaced. The rest of the film consist with Jhon discovering that these numbers represent the date (dd-mm-yy), the location (coordinates), and the number of people that die in the disaster. When John investigates the story behind the numbers he discovers more than he bargined for. The whole film is packed full of brilliant animation & graphic scenes of disasters allowing the viewer the maximum film experience. Definately worth watching :D

Nicolas Cage has done another great job in this movie. Knowing, is that kind of movie that keeps you tense from start to finish. Some people spoiled the ending for me (I'm not gonna do that), but even though it was spoiled for me the movie was still great. The effects and disaster sequences were well made. The kid's (and adult's) acting was great. The movie was well directed and well written. The movie was suspenseful but it was also scary (and I liked that). If you ever want to see a suspenseful movie with a great plot go see this movie I highly recommend it. The movie has some biblical references, but it is also mixes it with atheist's beliefs, so the no matter what you believe in, you can still enjoy the movie by having your own theories.

I really like this film, not the best i have seen but it's good enough

Knowing' begins in 1959 when an elementary school is celebrating its open by burying a time capsule containing the students' drawings of their thoughts of what the future will look like when its opened again in 50 years time.

Instead of doing a drawing, one young girl named Lucinda writes down a series of seemingly random numbers. 50 years later, the time capsule is opened and the drawings are given to the students. A boy named Caleb gets the page containing Lucinda's numbers. His father Jon (Nicolas Cage) is a professor of astrophysics and one night he notices that one of the number sequence is the date of the 9/11 attacks and it's death toll.

After spending the night looking into this with the help of the internet, Jon realises that the numbers are all dates and death tolls of major disasters over the past 50 years. However there are 3 dates that are yet to come.

a list of numbers left by a strange girl some 50 years previous leads to a chilling truth the end is here and there's nothing any one can do.Cage turns in a down to earth part not over the top as he some times does. His son hears whispers ?Strange figures stalk him Why? for evil or for good? The strange girls daughters daughter also is stalked and hears the whispers .Twists and turns around every corner.Effects are very good the plane coming down sends you running. The end is not as you would think no big hero Cage dies as does the earth the kids well get the dvd and enjoy.

  Knowing Nicholas Cage
Review created: 13/07/09

I always love science fiction but am very skeptical of movies due to the predictable endings often written for block busters. However, Knowing is decidedly different. The ending was exceptionally sad and exceptionally original, non of the trite quick fixes normally associated with Hollywood. The drama was powerfully acted throughout and Nicholas Cage had a great dynamic with his on screen son played by Chandler Canterbury. I can highly recommend this film and it is one that deserves several viewings. The themes of change and faith run throughout and, even though the ending is infinitely sad, hope still remains. A thought provoking and clever film.
