Kings Of Leon - Only By The Night (CD 2008)

Along with the debut Glasvegas album, this Kings Of Leon CD is the best thing i have heard all year and is definitely their best collection of songs to date. If you love Sex On Fire then you will love this album as in my opinion it is not the best song on here. Great album and can't stop listening to it!!

This is an awesome easy listening, rocky album, a great blend of songs. The Kings of Leon are great!

Bought this with high hopes but felt the album was fairly empty in it's entirety.
Have all 4 albums now and would say KOL have struggled to match the perfection that was Aha Shake Heartbreak.
There's a couple of tracks worth listening to but I couldn't ever see myself listening to the album from start to finish without moving past an a alarmingly large amount of dullness.

Haven't taken this album out of the cd player in ages. More than just a few stand out tracks on it. The whole album is brilliant. Well worth buying.

Superb album, not a single dodgy track.
Cant wait to buy their other albums.

I bought and loved the last two albums by Kings Of Leon so it was natural for me to want to buy their latest.Having heard good reviews on the radio, I was eagerly looking forward to a first listen.I must say that it hasn't disappointed! Its a cracking effort from the band.Theres not a weak song in there, but my particular favorites are "Sex On Fire", "Crawl" & "Cold Desert".Highly recommended.

Brilliant cd - i have the same view as Fearn cotton who recently said she has not taken it out of the cd player for weeks. I cant get the tracks out of my head the best thing ive heard for a couple of years.

This is probably my most anticipated album of 2008. 'Because of the Times' sent Kings of Leon deservedly into the big league and is one of my albums of the decade so far, and after seeing them storm through their Glastonbury set this year, they really were looking like a world beating band. I even got to hear Crawl and Manhatten during their set and knew that if the rest of the album lived up to these two songs it was going to be something very special indeed.

Unfortunately the rest of the album doesn't quite live up to this, but its still a corker. If you listen to 'Youth and Young Manhood' you would think that they had been written by two seperate bands. Gone is the Rolling Stone-esque grooves of their first two outings, and in comes the stadium filling epics.

They do rock out on a couple of songs, 'Crawl' and 'Sex is on Fire' have plenty of energy, however this is about as uptempo as the album gets, the rest is about atmosphere, big choruses and epic guitars. Unfortuntately it seems they might have forgotten how young they still are and are affraid to let it all hang out, because thats what Kings do best. They are a pure rock'n'roll band. No frills. If their next album returns to a more rockier feel then this album will be a gem amongst their back catalogue, however if they stick with this direction they will lose a lot of fans.

Basically, the songs are amazing, the production is sublime, the musicianship is awesome, the album is brilliantly crafted, but it ain't the Kings of Leon we all have come to know and love.

Kings of Leon are back and with a long awaited album, sadly they failed to be as impressive as before losing their raw energy for a more open felt CD for everyone to listen to.

It’s embarrassing when your mum or dad knows the same songs you listen to let alone know the band.

Great album but lacking the energy, passion and raw talent they had a few years back, yet I still am a dedicated fan and do like their songs but I am disappointed in them, by giving into being a generic run of the mill band that you me or any body can listen to

What can I say this is absolutely fantastic!! Addictive and one of those CD's you just can't stop listening to. Amazing tunes that you will just want to leave in the CD player and keep the repeat button pressed down on......unless its to put it in the car!! A must have & perfect christmas pressie!!

a quality album, with several real highlights, that you have probably heard on the radio by now, so i wont bore you.

its akin to rustling through a box of cadburys roses on christmas day, with the singles being the really nice hazelnut choccy ones - just enough to satisfy, but not too much to make you feel off colour.

Great album from a great band. I'd heard Sex on Fire on radio and immediately fell in love with the song. It's the kind of song that really gets to you and makes you want to dance. First time I listened to album thought it was amazing. There are some really great songs on there.

All of it absolutely breathtaking album. Kings Of Leon's Only By The Night is their best album to date, I've just got into this band and this album blew me away. This band will be huge! Amazing from start to finish, don't really like 17 but Sex On Fire, Crawl, Use Somebody, Be Somebody are all unbelievable. I have all the albums but this is the best by far. Clearer lyrics help but its just stonking.

This c.d is excellent from start to finish, i played it on repeat 4 time's and still wanted more, If there is only one c.d in the car or home stereo, this is the one!!

Listening to it at the moment so could be biased but so far all songs play well and am enjoying it well recommend cd to evryone and the supplier
