King Kong-Eighth Wonder of the World( DVD 2001)
Forget the fairly recent Peter Jackson remake, this is the King Kong Movie to own.Made in 1933 the special effects are excellent for that time, and Fay Wray's performance as the penniless girl who get lured to Skull Island by Robert Armstrong to make a Picture, is the definative Kong girl.
The acting is a little stilted, but this was normal for the Thirties and the part of the movie where Kong comes to New York to find Wray, and the scene on the Empire State Building is Classic.
Forget, the previous King kong Movies (I.e The 1976 Version,King Kong Lives, King Kong Escapes, and the Peter Jackson Film) as this is the best, and this edition comes with a Documentary about the making of this Movie.
At about a Fiver this is Great value, and I would recommend without hesitation as this is a Film you can watch fairly regularly and find new angles which you didn't see on your first viewing.
