Like the title says i got this as a xmas present didnt think it was my cup of tea was about to sell it on ebay but thought i would lisen to it first and well i was shocked! it is actually pretty good. Dont knock it till youves tried it.

Ive never been into albums much as most of the songs are quite poor, but breakaway is fantastic, ive beed hooked since i bought it and to think i didnt even k=like kelly clarkson befor since you;ve been gone

Here we go, another wanna-be diva wanting to spread out into the rock world. I have to say that when I first read on MTV news that Kelly Clarkson was going to move into a bit more of' 'edgier material, not quite metallica', I was less than enthused. I mean c'mon, the girl had a Dawson's creek type video! But after hearing the now awesome and ubiquitous 'Breakaway' from the Princess diaries 2 Soundtrack, I had my fears settled a bit. So, being the fan of women in rock, I decided to wildly take a chance at Target on the new CD 'Breakaway' by Kelly Clarkson, and I must say that I am quite presently surprised.
This CD is all that I believe Avril tried to be on her latest semi-genius CD 'Under My Skin'. The lyrics throughout the album are what you could expect if any of these angst-ridden teenagers ever grew up and wrote something of pure substance. I love the lyrics to this CD even though they do tend to border on being nearly about one guy who hurt Kelly; but hey, we all loved Maroon 5's latest and we all know that was an obsessive work about one girl, so what the hell?

The music starts with 'Breakaway' which I am thankful is included on this album ( as I don't want to buy that lame soundtrack), but I have a faint suspicion it is because they 'forgot' to release another single from the album and thought it would be a great enticement to buy the CD. Which, what do you know, it was! But no matter, Breakaway is an awesome song and one I tend to find very aptly fitting to my life. Coming from a small town to the big Seattle, where it is a miracle to escape (and those who do never go back), I liken this song as a powerful anthem to all of those who dream big and will not allow their past to influence their future. Being co-written by Avril Lavigne I expected the song to be of a bit more angst, but it is instead quite refreshing to the onslaught of love songs on the radio. Of course Breakaway is no indication to the rest of the CD, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

when i first heard about Kelly Clarkson, i though, 'not another reality TV singer pretending to sing,' but after hearing a few songs on the TV and radio, i really started to like her music, so much so that i went out and bought the CD. I'm so glad i did, its great, there are no fillers on the CD, like you find on some, just one or two good ones and the rest are rubish, but all the songs on this CD are great.
I would recomend anone to buy this CD. its great....

i didnt buy this album but i recived it as a prezzie!
as i mainly listen to rock i wasn't to sure about it but after playing the C.D. through once i was amazed it is so amazing and Kelly's vocals are superb. Her best song on the album has to be Beautiful Disaster. On the album it is sang live at one of her concerts and is pleasent for even the people who listen to the heaviest of rock!

My husband brought me this album a few weeks ago and it has had so much play time im sure its gonna wear out. I never really liked her last album and didnt think i would by another of hers but boy was i wrong!!!!!!
This album is a must have to all music lovers out there.

Always having the opinion that most artists that came from a reality TV show had little talent and dissapeared off of the face of the Earth after a few weeks; my view was spectacuarly revoked when out of American Idol came Kelly Klarkson.
'Breakaway' is currently (and probably will be for a long time to come) one of my all-time favourite albums, and is the first where I have loved each and every track on the CD. Taking a more mature (and obviously, a lot more successfull) turn in her style of music since her last abum, 'Breakaway' sees the likes of favourites such as "Since you've been gone", "Behind these Hazel eyes" and of course "Breakaway" which gives the album's title. These are only just some of the best songs on here and I'm sure you'll enjoy many more of them. In vocalist respects I feel Kelly has a beautiful and refreshing voice; the good thing about this album is that the songs are pretty varied to suit your mood - songs such as "Gone" when you're feeling a bit more lively, and calmer ones such as "Breakaway" which are significantly a lot more, perfect to chill out to after a hard day then.
Of course, there are a couple of songs that aren't as good as the others, they aren't bad per say, just don't compare to whatever your favourite songs on the album are. But which album doesn't experience this? You're always going to get the lesser-known bands on a music disk, especially because they usually become forgotten about after you've repeatedly skimmed thorugh to listen to your favourite tracks over and over again. So it's impossible to expect each and every single track to be 100% perfect... after that's what favourites are for right?
The extra tracks included as a bonus make a nice touch and ensure the CD keeps your interest longer, especially "Beautiful Disaster". Even after you listen to this album a lot, you won't tire of it because when you come back to it it's a pure gem. Great stuff!

This is definatly a must album from Kelly Clarkson, i bought the first album and i must say that wasnt very good but this album is totally different in so many ways, i love this album its one of my favourite albums to date.
Theres a different type of song for everyone from Pop to a little rock to ballards, some great vocals from Kelly, i wouldnt be without the album now. Insperational songs, and heartwrenching lyrics in some songs like BreakAway the first song and the name of the ablum, its truly fantastic, I would recommend it to anyone, deffinatly her best work so far. Give it a go i promise you wont be dissapointed it.

this album is one of very few that i can listen to all the songs on from start to finish! not only are the vocals excellent but its also got something on there for everyone from slow ballads and pop tunes to songs with a bit more "grrr" and attitude, catering for a wide variety in music tastes!! top album and would be an asset to anyones cd collection ~ would highly reccommend!

This is Kelly Clarkson at her best, you can see she is more comfortable singing this kind of music, in her previous album there were lots of ballads,where this one is more focused on things she can relate to , features great strong songs. WE see a rocky chick. With since youve been gone,a guy friend of mine bought this album, so its not a chicks album, he thought it was great, no he wasnt gay.I have it repeated on track 4 and 7 fab album . Buy now!!!

KELLY CLARKSON EXCELLS HERSELF IN THIS POWERFUL BALLAD. LISTENING TO THE LYRICS THEY ARE INTENSE AND STRIKE WITHIN PERSONAL EMOTIONS. WITH BOTH A MELODIC STYLE MIXED WITH A DRAMATIC PITCH MOST OF THE SONGS BECOME INSPIRATIONAL AND SOUL TOUCHING.THERE ARE A FEW SONGS ON WHICH I FEEL SHE LETS HERSELF DOWN, BUT THESE ARE MADE UP BY OTHERS ON THE ALBUM. DEFENITELY WOULD RECOMMEND PURCHASING.

This young lady sure is extremely talented, her songs are brilliant,emotive and I know I and many others can relate to some of them.Alot of them are about the good an bad points of relationships and her powerful voice demonstrates the passion and emotion that she feels. This album is well worth a listen..although by the 6th song you may get bored because they do tend to be along the same sounds.
But I think we're gonna see a lot more of this lady in the future!

My sister inlaw bought my daughter this CD for Christmas she is 15yrs old and she never stops playing it. I was a bit worried when she first showed me the CD (I had never heard of Kelly Clarkson) i thought not another one hit wonder, but after hearing it, at least a million times (thats teenagers for you), i didnt get bored listening to her voice, usually i am yelling "turn that noise off i am sick of hearing it" but she is a beautiful singer and i expect she will be around a long time. I listen to the CD when my daughter has left for school, she would have a fit if she knew an old person like me was into the same music as her.

This is a fantastic CD, kelly is great. I am not usually a fan of this genre of music however her voice and the songs on this CD match perfectly. There are a few fillers on the CD but its mostly all good stuff. There is a wide mixture of power ballad type rock, more sombre tracks are all included. bottom line if you liked kelly's single you will love this album so buy or dismiss i leave it to you.

I brought this CD for me mam, but I played it when it come home and now I refuse to give it to me mam as it is such a brillant song and Kelly Clarkson hits all the right notes.

If you want some music with a bit of loving and care in it then this the CD you want to buy.

You wouldn't have expected much from this album but since receiving it, have got me addicted. Kelly's album includes many well known tracks from the charts: Breakaway, Since you been gone, Because of you, Behind these hazel eyes.. These songs itself are enough to get you hooked!!

The other songs are good as well, such as addicted.

This is a fascinating album and is suitable for everyone. The music is more pop then rock but can get you listening to it for weeks. 5/5

I bought this cd for my daughter ,she loves the cd and it's great that she was able to buy it with her money.Buying this on ebay made it affordable,and in fact this was a bargain.This was an imported cd so the songs are in a different order than if you bought this in the uk,but otherwise it's absolutely fine.

Ok i admit when i first heard Miss Independant, her first track after winning American Idol or something i kinda liked it. Not loved it i just wouldnt turn off the radio if i heard it. After that she just really disappeared and i didnt even know she had brought out an album.

However all that changed when i was music channel flicking and i came across Since U Been Gone! WOW it was amazing! a real shout out rock out loud track! i got hooked and found myself looking for more of her music - i came across he next too singles, both beeeaauuutiful ballads! Behind These Hazel Eyes and Because of You were just amazing. I was desperate for this album by then - i cant tell you i wasnt disappointed i LOVE it.

Favourite tracks include the up beat shout out Gone, Walk Away which you cant help but dance and sing along to, and the beautiful Where is Your Heart. The Live version of Beautiful Disaster is a haunting power ballad showing us that this girl has a voice! The bonus tracks Miss Independant and Low from her first album are good contributions, Miss Independant gets a little tiring after a while but Low is just fantastic.

i normally HATE those talent contest winners, ive never bought anything by any of them. However i have been proved wrong by Kelly Clarkson, i just gotta tell you all to go buy it!

a brilliant album what a voice a real feel good album. a must have in every home.she has a brilliant powerful voice topped with great riffs on guitar and drums. i bough this album for my husband and i havent put it down yet really catching tunes. 10/10
