Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly Angry Mob (CD 2007)

The second album from this English five-man band finds the Chiefs sticking to basic radio-friendly anthems like flies to flypaper. More Britpop than the first album Employment, most of the songs are instantly catchy, but share a certain "sameness" that may cause some tracks to be gone and forgotten before they get even fifteen minutes of fame.

First single "Ruby" is one of the ones you'll remember, especially if your name happens to be Ruby. The song has already become the band's biggest single to date, due to the cool intro and beat, but other than a lot of "da da daaas" and "ahaa, ahaa ahaas", and of course "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Rubys", there isn't a lot going for the song lyrically.

Second single "Everything is Average Nowadays" is another upbeat song, but there are better on the album. A track to note is "The Angry Mob", which although is actually an attack on the press, has a chorus that will stick in your head forever:

"We are the angry mob
We read the papers everyday day
We like who we like
We hate who we hate
But we're also easily swayed"

The others are "Heat Dies Down" - another great chorus; "Highroyds"; the slower paced "Love's Not a Competition (But I'm Winning)"; and the quirky "My Kind of Guy" (I like this one)

Kaiser Chiefs may have gone pop on this album, but the carefully baited hooks will have you coming back for more.

OH yes, we all like this CD, i thought ages ago they'd be good, then wasn't sure and no i've decided i like em, there not bad live, there very good on a CD, and this is a stick in ya car, and crank it up, as it ticks all the boxes, and i like the fact that you look like an idiot singing in the car to ruby ruby ruby ruby............

I bought this and loved it. Very simplistic but very true wording. Great style and mix of music. If you liked the first, you will love this. Very energetic and great music to work to as keeps you going. Brill, one of the best this year so far. Hope this will go far as tunes very catchy and easy to sing to.

already have "employment" cd-think its brilliant so decided to buy this one as well.very disappointed-only like ruby.as the kaisers say everything is average nowadays-including the kaiser chiefs!

This is definatley the best album of 2007! I love it. A great follow up to 'Employment'. Ricky's voice sounds mature and the songs are sooooo catchy as usual. Opens with the great 'Ruby' - also includes the single 'Everything is average nowadays' - a definate - go and get it album!

OK SO THIS ALBUM IS VERY GOOD. JUST NOT AS GOOD HAS THE OTHER ONES BY THE KAISERS. GOOD TUNES BUT NOT AS CATCHY AS THE OTHER RECORDS THEY'VE MADE. I AM FROM LEEDS! SO NATURALLY I AM I KAISERS FAN. ONE OF THESE CDS THAT DISAPPOINTED ME SLIGHTLY. STILL A GOOD BUY.

I bought this cd as I bought the other Kaiser Chiefs Cds which was awsum. this album is also good but not as good as the last one, but if you like the Kaiser Chiefs definatly buy this Cd too!

if you like good brit music this is a must!! a cracking new brit pop band from the new brit pop era, the leeds based band with the wooooooooooooo factor!!

i love the group anyway but i especially bought this cd for the song ruby ruby ruby because iv just had a daughter and called her ruby. its brilliant.

The CD was well received as a present for my Grand Daughter. She is a big fan of The band and I found myself pleasantly tapping to some of the tunes. Good listening value and I recomend to all.

THIS LONG AWAITED 2nd ALBUM KAISER CHIEFS - YOURS TRULY ANGRY MOB 2007,IS ANOTHER EXCELLENT ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE BEST BRITISH BANDS FOR YEARS,IF YOU LIKED THE 1st ALBUM YOUR LOVE THIS,LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR 3rd ALBUM 10/10.

The second, follow up, CD to Employment is just as good but perhaps not as immediate. Does take a bit of listening to but repays the effort. Not only rocky but the slower songs are just superb. 1st rate live as well!!!

'Ruby' Ruby Ruby....Absolute marvelous, not too mention 'The Angry Mob', 'Everything is average nowadays', 'Heat dies down', 'Loves not a competition' and the others on this fine album.
If you need a Pick-me-up moment, then put this album on!

This a fantastic CD from a very good band. There is not one sing that I do not like. A must for any music lover.

The item is fantastic as i really love the Kaiser Chiefs and love dancing round my room with it on
I bought it as i am going to watch them this year and wanted to learn the songs

When i first heard samples of the kasier chiefs i thought WOW this is a great band and went out and brought the first album as soon as it was released. It stayed in my car stereo for weeks so couldnt wait for some of there new sounds.Sorry to inform you that this was a massive disapointment and all i can say is this effort isnt a patch on there original tracks. Sorry.
