KEF Audio KIT200 Theater System

The sound is outstanding, looks fantastic. If you like your dvd's to sound like you are at the cinema then this is the kit to do it!
Heavy with the bass even at low levels which for standard tv is'nt the best.

In brief, ridiculously easy to set up cables are all labelled up for ease. Literally plug and play, took me 10mins to set my system up and several hours to hide all thw wires in the floor!

The 'Egg' speakers Sound excellent, crystal clear sound with good depth to the sound. The subwoofer compliments the 'egg speakers' perfectly and can be wound up to floor shaking / neighbour wall banging bass levels if required.

The high gloss amp / DVD player looks superb, albeit the dull display is limited and not overly clear in bright sunlight. The 'egg' speakers have a matt rubber feel cover to them and also look superb.

One thing I was very impressed with was the build quality and weight of the units. Have no illusion these are deceptively heavy speakers for the size, and the subwoofer weighs a ton! The stnads on the speakers can be relocated to enable wall mounting so ne additional mountings required.

Down points the approx 1.5m cable linking subwoofer to amp is too short for where I want to position the sub in my room. NB no way of extending cable as also supplies power etc.

The rear surround speaker cable lengths are really long and I'd be surprised if they were too short for any lounge set up. The front speaker cables are a reasonable length but wasn't quite long enough for me to take the long route to hide the cable I wanted to take.

Higher spec KIT's have a HDMI output which is an excellent feature. For my purposes I'm using this KIT as solely a surround sound system and the built in DVD player is not needed. As such the cheaper KIT180 was more than sufficent for my needs. You do need to connect the amp picture output to your TV to enable the system set up menus to be visible.

On researching this purchase I really struggled to find any info on the KEF KIT180, it's not even on the KEF site at all. The KEF KIT180 does exist, and is basically the KEF KIT200 with Different speakers, the speakers are the 'egg' type. The kit is virtually identical to the current KEF KIT520.

Overall I'd def recommend and I'm very happy with my KEF KIT180

this is an excellent item at a great price. it was everything we expected.delivery was amazing, came the next day and was packed well. it sounds great and was easy to set up. we would be happy to recommend buying this item.
