This new 40th Anniversary release will include an all-new digital restoration of the film and for the very first time ever, this release will feature the movie in 1.75:1 widescreen aspect ratio (Please be aware that "Jungle Book" was filmed in 1.37:1 aspect ratio and was cropped for its theatrical screenings. The movie loses a little from top and bottom here in this restored version so think twice before selling off your old copies which featured the movie in its original fullscreen ratio). Along with a 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix soundtrack, this edition includes a restored original theatrical soundtrack too. French and Spanish language tracks will also appear on the disc. This is my favourite Disney Film and is all about a little boy Mowgli who is found in the Jungle without his parents and is looked after by the Animals. They help him appreciate all of the aspects of a jungle. Protecting him from the dangers, teaching him and his story from Boy to Man.

Today, I purchased the deluxe edition of this DVD as I am collecting all of the disney animated classics. I must say I am very impressed with the film and the boxset. This is the first time I have seen this film and loved it especially the songs. LOOK FOR THE BEAR NECESSITIES! haha

I purchased this DVD for my nephew as I remember watching it as a child and thoroughly enjoying it. It lived up to its expectations. We all watched it as a family and was enjoyed by all age groups. A must have I'd say!

What can I say, this film is out of this world. If I could remember the words to songs I would sing along. Then I would ruin it. I rate this film one of the top five cartoons ever made in fact one of the top three. If any one has doubt forget it their is everything in the film for children and adults. No more I'll be repeating my self.

it's 2009 and jungle book is 40 years old but my three year old daughter loves it! Fabulous to hear her sing "forget about your worries and your strife".... :)
