Judy Boucher - Sunshine And Smiles (CD 2007)

I ahve been looking to find the track "Can't be with you tonight" for many years and was delighted to find it on this CD album on ebay.

I decided to buy the cd because it has been such along time since i have heard her, all her songs are very good to listen to and i am a lovers reggae fan.

Judy Boucher describes herself as an ordinary country girl from St. Vincent, in the Caribbean. When Judy was 15 she moved to High Wycombe in the UK. After school she formed a band with her brother called Judy Jack & The Beanstalk. After ten years together, Judy tired of touring and concentrated on bringing up her young family. In 1985 Felix Da Silva, a local songwriter wanted a singer to cover his songs and Judy was able to record several of them, including Dreaming Of A Little Island, which enjoyed the Number 1 slot in the Reggae Charts and was subsequently used as the Jamaica Tourist Board s theme tune. An album was released called Can't Be With You Tonight which would change the 'ordinary country girl' into an International Entertainer by the end of 1987...The story goes like this: Lizzy Webb, TV's exercise queen at the time heard the song while driving home and decided to use it as her exercise tune. The UK public began enquiring about it. Judy's producer released it to satisfy the demand and gave Judy her first national entry, it hit Number 1 in the mid week chart, but remained at Number 2 for eight weeks in the UK and was a hit also in Holland, Switzerland, France, Greece and Spain. A surprise call came from South Africa informing her that it was also a massive hit there. She was asked to tour several other African countries including Swaziland and Namibia and other tours followed in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In recognition of her achievements, Judy was invited by the Government of St. Vincent as their special guest of honour and remains an Ambassador for her country. Judy Boucher is Reggae, R&B and Country, real raw adult orientated music.
