The Joy Luck Club (DVD 2004)

A beautifully crafted story. I first saw it about 10 years ago and when I saw it again this year (2003) I loved it just as much. The characters are all very different each with their own charms and failings. This film manges to display the fragility of human nature. It is a realisation that we all have the same basic need - to be loved and accepted for what we are. It shows emotion without being too sentimental. The background music is great - wish I could buy a CD of it. Don't miss this film. Unforgettable!

I HAVE SEEN THIS FILM ON TWO OCCASIONS. A VERY MOVING AND EMOTIONAL FILM. CAN BE WATCHED BY ALL HOWEVER, I THINK IT IS VERY MUCH A MOTHER AND DAUGHTER FILM. IT REALLY MAKES YOU FEEL THAT THERE IS NOT TOO MANY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS AND HOW OUR MOTHERS LIFES CAN IMPACT ON OUR OWN LIVES. SO THE PHASE THAT "APPLES DON'T FALL FAR FROM A TREE" IS SO VERY TRUE. I AM BUYING THIS DVD FOR MY OWN DAUGHTER WHO IS OF AGE AND GOD WILLING SOON TO BECOME A MOTHER. I THINK SHE WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS FILM AS WELL.

Excellent epic story. Must-see film.
I'm soo glad to find this film on DVD, can wait to sit down and see it again, when I recieve it.
