Jools Holland-Swinging the blues Dancing the Ska

If you like Jools Holland you'll love this album. This is Jools at his eclectic best. It is no good listening to this album quietly, you won't appreciate it. Put it in the player and turn the volume up and enjoy, make sure your're alone unless there is a like minded person around.
From the opening thumping blues of "Mr Roberts Roost", written by Count Basie to the almost Pink Pantherish "Casbah Blues" to Jools' duet with Ruby Turner on the Bob Dylan classic "Blowin in the Wind" to the melancholy "We shed a Tear" this album does not fail to impress.
Jools duets with Sam Brown, Solomon Burke, Ruby Turner, and Beverley Knight, all of whom have appeared on his late night show, showing his talent for being
able to play the blues with the best of singers.
The sleeve notes are well worth reading and are very helpful and the CD case comes with its own sleeve.
All in all I would recommend this album to anyone, if you love the blues you'll love this, if you're a Holland fan you'll be in raptures.
Fantastic!!!
