) As a fan of Joe Satriani, I bought this double CD, because it brings together all his classics, as well as experiencing his other songs.
The 2 CDs in The Electric Joe Satriani make a great introduction to Joe's music to anyone. The selection of tracks is superb. It gives you the more rocking tracks as well as the ballad type pieces.
For anyone who is unaccustomed to his music, his excellent taste in straight-ahead rock creates excellent musical basis for him to play solo guitar melodies over the top of.
This is the guy who taught Steve Vai and Kirk Hammett, as well as many other famous guitarists.
For experienced fans, this CD contains two previously unreleased songs, The Eight Steps and Slick. The former was actually a bonus track on the Japan release of Strange Beautiful Music but Slick's not been seen at all before. Every recording has been remastered, and it all sounds bigger and better than before. And to top it all off, Joe writes about each and every song in the liner notes, explaining things related to the tracks.
A great introduction to the new Satriani fan, and a must for experienced fans too. I would highly recommend this album!!
