bad for good

this , for the uninitiated is the " missing " meatloaf album . once he had charted with bat out of hell(heard of it ? yes , good ) the Meatloaf phenomenon went global with a vengeance ! his management laid out a crippling exhausting 12 months of touring for him , sadly culminating in his voice problems ( to say nothing of drink, drugs and anything else within arms reach ) in short , his vioce was shot to bits and the possibility loomed that he may never sing professionally again .
All the while this was happening , Jim Steinman had the new album written and ready to put on vinyl .
finally realising that if he didnt record it no one might , he decided to go to the studio himself and lay it down ....
the result was fabulous , all the majesty and grandeur of typical meatloaf tracks but with a different voice , a less trained but unusually raw quality to it enhancing the earthiness that some of these songs required ......
all the while still retaining the tongue in cheek humour the pops up regularly in jims songs ,
this is a must for any meatloaf fan , steinman fan , or rock n' roller .........they dont make em like this any more
