Jamie Cullum - Twentysomething (CD 2003)

This is one of the best CDs in its music area to have been released - ever. The music is variable in style and yet it all hangs together as a 'set' in the way Sinatra could produce 'Albums' with a theme. Cullum handles each song with total confidence and the arrangements are all perfect.

If there is anything to dislike it would have to be a particular song that you, the listener, doesn't like rather than a fault with the treatment by Cullum. Why did I buy it? Because I missed it at the time it came out and will never miss another from Jamie. Thanks for a delightful CD, John

i bought this when it first came out,i loved it then and i still do now.jamie,s voice is quite different to his contempories.interesting lyrics too.

He has the talent to transform any jazz/pop music into something brilliant....

i used to have this cd and lost it (or lent it out and never got it back) its a great album so decided to re buy at a great price

The mix of tracks are such that regardless of this talented young mans preference for the 'jazz' style there is bound to be a number of tracks everyone with a like for true music will enjoy - love song, up-beat, jazz style, slow melodic - they are all here - I dont know if this was his 1st or 2nd album, but it is a gem a mini classic. His later stuff is just as good but this cuts the way and sets a standard thats hard to match endlessly and for some artists - it is something they can only hope to aspire to.

Jack Casady of the Jefferson Airplane once said "We want to make the music reach out like a big hand and grab you". I bought this after hearing the odd track on the radio - and it doesnt grab - its nice to have, Cullum and sidesmen make a kind of tasteful well done noise - perfect dinner party background, but it doesn't repay active listening.

Never heard his stuff before and I am NO officianado, but it is pleasant enough and easy on the ear, but perhaps in the final analysis - fairly forgettable!

If you're new to Jazz, then this is a good "easy listening" style. Great for background music when you have friends round and equally good to sing along to.
There's some well known classics and completely new songs.

looked up and found that it was at the right price and am very happy with purchase as it arrived in good condition and although a postal strike only delated by one day will do business with seller in future
