I won this and a Pioneer DV303 system on ebay. I also have a 10 year old Sony HiFi (40w per channel) and a cheap durabrand 5.1 from Asda. The Pioneer DV303 sounds best followed by the Durabrand and Sony. I just can't seem to get the sound right on the JVC. It is loud and there is plenty of bass, but I tire of the sound. I can listen to music all day on the Sony or Durabrand but this JVC soon gets uncomfortable to listen to. I guess if you wanted something to blast away movies then it would be Ok but it doesn't have the versatility with general audio sources. I'll persevere with some other settings cos other reviews suggest it should be better. Don't right off cheap Durabrand!
