Well, this item was amazing, first of all, MICHAEL JACKSON ROCKSSS!!! Second of all, this being technically his last major album released with new tracks, it was a really good album and the fact they used different case colours really made the album stand out. Over all i loved this album. It added to my michael jackson collection which is now 33 cd's, all his albums, remix albums and original and special editions of his albums. Looking forward to seeing him this summer now.

  Michael Jackson - Invincible (2001)

Some are quick to judge Invincible as an album that just does not "hit the spot" as previous albums had done before. Most likely they listen to the first ten to twenty seconds of the track, and just skip to the next after not hearing something they might like.

At first, I was one of these people. Move "You Rock My World" aside, as the short film is perhaps the main reason most bought the album. But this was one of the issues that Invincible faced. Due to problems with Michael's contract with Sony Music from 1991, the album could not be supported properly like Michael's previous albums through promotion and advertising. This is perhaps the main reason why sales weren't as strong as expected.

But this does not affect the the music on the album. Again take "You Rock My World" aside, and you will have an album that has very high quality music that is well produced and outstanding vocally. Remember that in 2001 when Invincible was released, Michael was 43 at the time, and tracks such as "Butterflies" demonstrate Michael's vocal abilities at his age. (For those of you who may wonder, there is no editing on Michael's voice on "2000 Watts"!)

I would recommend "Whatever Happens" featuring the great Carlos Santana, and "Threatened", featuring a wonderful introduction of clips of the great Rod Serling from the TV series "The Twilight Zone".

An truly underrated and misjudged album.

This is great music. I haven't given it a top rating, because in my opinion thriller will always be at the top. Some really nice tracks on this though and well worth having.

Great album from Michael. Different but fab!

A mixture of great love songs and the usual paparazzi aimed catchy tunes. Different to anything I've heard from Michael before. I think this album shows his more sensitive side, which is not a bad thing. Its hard to equal previous albums every time, but I think this is a really good effort and I would definately recommend it for MJ fans, aswell as fans of R&B and pop.

Some outstanding tracks on this album
Review created: 28/06/07

Let me start by saying I think it's unfair to compare this album to Michael's others. For instance, to date Thriller has sold over 100 million copies - no-one could ever expect to match that. I will therefore review this album on its own merit.

Whilst this album got slated by a lot of the press - probably those expecting it to match Thriller - it has some classic, beautiful songs on it. My favourite has to be Speechless, a song Michael wrote whilst watching his children playing out the window. His vocals on that song are, as usual, pitch perfect. You can almost feel the emotion.

If it's a faster, more upbeat song you're after then Unbreakable fits the bill. Brilliantly written and great to dance to.

One song that stands out on the album is 2000 Watts. Michael took singing lessons to enable him to sing perfectly in a deeper voice, and it doesn't sound like his normal voice at all. This is the track my son loves, and enjoys singing along to.

You Rock My World and Cry are two well known tracks on this album, both of which are destined to be classics.

I have put this album as good rather than excellent, due mainly to the fact that I think it could have been better. However, it's a great album to put on in the background and listen to on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Still Sold More Than Other Artists
Review created: 02/04/07

This is the latest album from Michael (although a new one on the way soon) Although most people would bad mouth Michael for this album it still sold more than most artists if not all artists. It sold over 9 million copies (an average artist/band sells about 1.5mil per album)

It's a more contemporary balad kind of album certainly different to the normal Michael stuff, but we some really true songs and some fun songs it's really good.

Incincible - wonderful CD and worth owning!
Review created: 05/08/09

I "lost touch" with Michael Jackson music around 2001 - when all his persecution and tribulations started - and I'll honestly say I didn't know he had made this Invincible CD! When I listened to it just recently, I fell instantly in love with every song. The songs are bouncy, clever, great rhythm; then there are the slower songs like Break of Dawn, Speechless (my favouritist), Lost Children, Don't Walk Away, You Rock my World - these songs just show his versatility and brilliance and oustanding voice. All of Michael's songs have a clear message, and I believe they are all related to his life as a genius, but a sad and misunderstood and falsely accused miracle! I give this Cd 100/10!!

Michael Jackson - Invincible (CD 2001)
Review created: 28/07/09
by:

If I could tear down these walls that keep you and I apart
I know I could claim your heart and our perfect love will start
But girl you just won't approve of the things that I do
When all I do is for you but still you say it ain't cool

If there's somebody else, he can't love you like me
And he says he'll treat you well, he can't treat you like me
And he's buying diamonds and pearls, he can't do it like me
And he's talking you all across the world, he can't trick you like me

[ CHORUS ]
So why ain't you feelin' me, she's invincible
But I can do anything, she's invincible
Even when I beg and plead, she's invincible
Girl won't give in to me, she's invincible

Now many times I've told you of all the things I would do
But I cant seem to get through no matter how I try to
So tell me how does it seem that you ain't checking for me
When I know that I could be more than you could ever dream

If there's somebody else, he can't love you like me
And he says he'll treat you well, he can't treat you like me
And he's buying diamonds and pearls, he can't do it like me
And he's talking you all across the world, he can't trick you like me

[ CHORUS ]

Now some way I'll have to prove all that I said I would do
Giving you everything, fulfilling your fantasy
Then maybe you'll change your mind and finally give in time
Then I'll be showing you what other men are
supposed to do for you my baby

Not as bad as I remeber
Review created: 23/07/09
by:

As I kid I fondly remeber the game "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" and the soundtrack it had. So when I was seven and asked for a MJ CD for my Birthday, I was expecting something more classic, involving tracks like "Beat It", "Smooth Criminal" and "Another Part of Me". To my dismayal, I got this, and being rather brattish, I gave it a few listens and decided I didn't like it. This opinion stuck until a little later on, when I heard the song "You Rock My World" playing on the Radio. I got this one back out, and when the opening track "Unbreakable" started playing, I realised what I had been missing out on. As with most Jackson albums of this era, it features many special guests, like the Notourious B.I.G., Carlos Santana and even Chris Tucker. Yet again, with all of Jackson's albums, you can hear the effort and love that was put into it. All "Thrillers" no fillers, as it were. So don't pass this one by. It may be one of his worser albums, but it can still hold it's own.

One of Michaels lesser albums but still filled with some beautiful ballads sung only the way he could! Each track seems to melt into the next surrounding you in comfort and warmth.
There is nothing I can find to dislike about the album, as expected from an MJ album.

  Terrible Album
Review created: 03/12/06
0 of 2 people found this review helpful.

This album if MJ's is awful, to explain just how bad this album is, it sound's like an new artist on the block trying to sing in R&B. Thriller, Bad, Dangerous and the Histrory album, they are without doubt the best album's, obvously. Now the Blood On The Dance Floor album is just ok only 2 songs i thought that were class and that's (Ghost) and (Blood On The Dance Floor)are the only 2 decent songs on that album. Now i get the impression that MJ is getting worse as he brings out a new album, lets not put down the History album cos that is a great MJ album but then from there i think it's where it all starts getting worse. Every genius artist has to fade out with there latest albums at some point as MJ is only human and getting old but in his name no matter how much MJ makes crap album's in the future. He has nothing to prove, because of what he has achieved with (BAD) (THRILLER) (DANGEROUS) and
(HISTORY)

Because of the History album i thought that the Invincible album will be just as good. But i was wrong.

So in my opinion (DO NOT BUY THE INVINCIBLE ALBUM!) there is not even one good song in that album and they all sound the same.
