Album Notes One of the biggest pop stars in his native UK, yet still somewhat obscure in the US, Robbie Williams remains undaunted on 2005's INTENSIVE CARE, an album that amps up the rock side of the singer's pop/rock equation. Wearing his influences as charmingly as his mischievous, seemingly ever-present grin, Williams gleefully indulges in a Bono-esque falsetto on the propulsively rhythmic "Tripping" and nods to Bowie on the buoyant, nostalgic "Spread Your Wings." Like his contemporary Kylie Minogue, Williams revels in a slightly sophisticated aesthetic that Americans seem hesitant to fully embrace, but the undeniably catchy tunes on INTENSIVE CARE may finally turn heads in the States and succeed in making Williams a truly international star. All the tracks brilliantly written (especially 'make me pure') and produced to the usual high quality standard. Although slightly different to previous releases, you will not be dissappointed if you purchase this album. Try and purchase the one with the DVD which includes footage of Robbie and the rest of band producing the album which also has a candid interview with Robbie. This is a must for any collection/collector. Review ID: 10000000001943417 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 27/10/05 by: 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Another fantastic album from Mr. Williams. Top marks for his first album without co-writing with Guy Chambers, many people tought that he wouldn't be able to do it without him, well he has far surpassed that. Excellent album, full of superb tunes that any fan or new comer (where have you been???) will enjoy, or else I'll eat my hat... Review ID: 10000000000042833 Was this review helpful?
