Intel Q9300 CPU
Straight into the Skt 775 on my 680 Nvidia chipset motherboard. CMOS hard reboot to authenticate and away. Stable and cool enough running with an Arctic Freezer Pro rather than the Intel reference Heatsink and fan. Fans run down to silent mode within 15 secs. I am using this CPU in a gaming rig, upgraded from scratch. It is a very good intermediate point from intel quad 6600 (1066 FSB) to my aim of a QX9770 (too steep for me at the moment). To those not moving to Core i7 and not flush enough for the QX this is reasonable- Can OC to around 3.3 GHz. It suits while I save.
Hope this is useful
NB- Check your MOBO BIOS before moving to 45nm CPUs
