The processor's default clock is 2.33GHz (333MHz front side bus and a multiplier of 7). For normal every day tasks such as word processing this is more than capable. It performs great in games too. Core 2 Duos are great chips. What makes them even better is their amazing overclocking tolerance. I myself have this chip running at 3.1GHz, on the stock Intel cooler in a normal, air cooled case. I rarely see idle temperatures of above 40C or load temperatures above 60C. The only issue I have is with the stock cooler, which has a circular contact, leaving the corners of the chip exposed. That said, the cooler manages to keep the temperature down very well. All in all it's an excellent chip and I'd recommend it to anyone for a budget system.
