) Being a big Anthony Hopkins fan i found it a must adding this dvd to my collection. (Hopkins) plays anthropologist Ethan Powell, a very strong character in this film about a man that whilst studying mountain gorillas becomes more and more disgruntled with now, the outside world. (Cuba Goodring Jnr), as supporting actor is, as ever at his best when under pressure, plays young psychiatrist, Theo Calder. He is given the task of assessing and reporting his findings on the now incarcerated Ethan Powell. this film has you glued to the screen with a lump on your throat as it seamlessly jumps back and fourth in the memories of Ethan Powell.

) Instinct surely is an thought-provoking, emotionally draining film. On the surface it is a film about a crime commited however it is so much more than that, it explores the very nature of freedom and control.
The film has very strong acting, cinematography and accompanying music which helps to engage the viewer and create the almost unsettlingly ambiance. Having watched it on television I was quick to buy the DVD and enjoy the movie uninterupted.
A must, certainly for anyone.

Why I bought this DVD...I like both the main stars in this film and it looked like a good'un - I wasn't dissapointed. Good film - I'd give it 8/10.

This is a fantastic movie with a great storyline. It follows the life of a man who studies the behaviour of apes and the consequences of taking on their behaviour as a part of their family group.
