Inhumanoids (DVD)

This was a little-known animation series that only ever had 13 episodes (all contained on this 280 minute 2-disc DVD set) !

This DVD 2-disc set contains Inhumanoids : The Movie (which is episodes 1-5 of "The Evil That Lies Within" mini-series) + the other 8 standalone episodes made later...

Basically anything Inhumanoids-related is on this DVD and there is nothing left out, so for a fan or new convert looking for a complete collection, this is the one to go for :) It even contains an advert for the Redlen action figure and all the packaging photos from the action figure series. Oh, and it even has all the episode scripts in .pdf form !

It starred the Earth Corps, a 4-man team of scientists, bolstered by power battle suits they design to protect themselves. They are investigating an ancient evil that has been buried for ages deep within the earth's core. This evil takes the form of three giant (Inhumanoids) monsters (Tendril + Metlar + D Compose), each with special abilities (deadly vines, fire and decomposition).

The Earth Corps struggle to combat and contain them, but then the three monsters are joined by the Mutores, a host of strange allies each with their own elemental powers. With all these foes to combat the Earth Corps really struggle to say the least !

The animation is well produced and has very gripping and tense storylines. You really feel you're journeying along with a team who struggles to battle the odds stacked massively against them. Its also interesting to have a lot of the battles set underground which opens up many interesting possibilities for action...

The fact that the Earth Corps is just 4 scientists (who frankly are rubbish at fighting !) is very amusing and quite rare in the world of animation heroes, these guys are geeky and weak and without their power suits they'd all be dead in seconds !

I discovered this cartoon in the back half of the Transformers UK comic back in the 80's and was hooked straight away. Didnt realise there was an animated series until recently and it lives up to the high standards set in the comics for sure :)

The action figures are pretty cool also !
