Il Divo - Il Divo (CD 2004)

Brilliant CD and the voices just blend so well. Normally we listen to rock music but I'm a sucker for this (me being the female partner of the ebayer here - he would just die if he thought I was writing this review on behalf of him.

I borrowed the CD from my Mum and ripped it to my computer and the computer crashed. Thought I'd be as well to buy the CD and now I have it for good! I listen to it on my melancholy days and it picks me up. A mixture of Italian and English sung throughout. The Italian definitely gives it the better romantic feel!

Would definitely recommend it to those of you who aren't quite sure about opera - it is a good introduction to it and not too heavy at all.

Well what can I say! Absolutely wonderful voices singing very calming songs, some even in English. Very pleasureable to the ears, not like some of the tunes you get nowadays which the younger generation love. Yes, I'm in my early 40's so perhaps I appreciate this type of music now.

Brand spanking new, still in the wrapper - cheap as chips and best of all - Il Divo - my bestest thing in the world!!

i liked this cd because it was brand new also the artists are fantastic i decided to buy it because their voices are tremendes also i have been lookingfor thid cd for ages

This cd I believe, is the better out of the two that Il Divo have done. Although some of the records are commercialy well know, they are a better choice than the 1st, more catchy and enjoyable to listen too. So all in all, a great CD and very easy to listen to.

What can I say that has not already been said about these talented guys...?
I am a partly trained classical singer and am currently studying Spanish. I only normally listen to heavy metal and baroque choral music (strange but true!!)
I was given one of their CDs for Christmas and was totally blown away. I'm not a fan of pop music nor reality shows and had never heard of them before, but they deserve every accolade that they have received. I particularly like the clarity of Urs' voice (in any language), although Carlos is easy to understand too. Sebastian shows his lack of classical training by some unclear pronunciation but hopefully this will improve over time.
Keep it up, guys!

its a truely romantic mix of some known songs and others that you may never have heard off... its not conventional but its still a very amazing sound and is very unique as it was early on in their careers and its still possible to hear the vocal differences when compared to some of their late work when they do finally begin to sound like a single vocal presence.
still an amazing album if you like this kind of music or if you want to set the mood.

Why did I buy this? Simple I broke the copy my wife had. Size 11 verses CD no contest. I have told her not to leave them on the floor. What do I like most about this? It keeps the wife happy and I quite like it myself. What do I dislike about this? I can not think of any reason to dislike this type of music.

These four men have come together, they have overcome the biggest obstacle of all, speaking different languages, but their voices come together as one.
They have made each song their own.
An amazing album and i would put these voices on a par with Andrea Bocelli.
Just wonderful.

Fantastic voices from a highly talented group of guys, but if you want it just in English, then this CD is probably not for you.

PLAYED THIS CD THREE TIMES NOW AND FIND IT VERY PLEASING TO SIT AND LISTEN TO. THERE ARE 12 TRACKS ON THE PLAYLIST,FOR WHICH I ENJOY ALL TRACKS, AND WILL BE GETTING A FEW MORE OF THERE CD,S.IF YOU ARE INTO OPERATIC GROUPS THEN THIS WON,T DISSAPOINT.

a superb debut by a group of voices that set the worlds stage alight . a refreshing change from pop and brings both pop and classic musical styles togehter making it assceible to all .

il divo is the best group of male singers i have heard this centary and they have the most wonderful harmony i know.

love every thing about the cd, the singing is superb as always.I love to listen when driving, puts you in a good mood.

I didn't expect to like this CD when a friend offered to lend it to me. I'm not into opera, but after listening to it through once (I thought I should!)I just had to add it to my Christmas list! Their voices are unspeakably beautiful and the sound make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and can even move me to tears at times. The songs take you out of yourself and make the world seem a better place.

Great music one of there best CD's if you like opera then you will like these singers, light and inspired your men.

When i brought mine i was unsure if i would like it, beening the first CD by a new group as i had only heard them on TV. But i could not beilive how these for four guys could sing with feeling and passion. You know they love what they do as this is very rare these days. Nella Fantasia they sing this with so much passion it made me cry. Mama, feelings,unbreak my heart and Nella Fantasia are my favorite songs on this CD but i enjoy listening to the other tracks as well. I am sure their next CD will be as good.
