This is a very popular Laptop for general use. It's size and weight compare very favourablly with up to the minute Offerings. The speed is excellend for general tasks, although not quite up to Vista. Large Bright Screen, built in WiFi and DVD together with genuine Intel 1.5Ghz CPU and 512MB memory make it the Secret Tip for laptop insiders. I've owned several in my time, and only once did I have to buy a new battery. I've run various Linux OS's with and without Windows 95, 98, 2000 and XP all without problems. An excellent Levenco website provides loads of free drivers, downloads and user manuals.

The laptop that I bought for my girlfriend is fast and seems very reliable at the moment, although old it does everything it needs to and quickly (which I wasn't fully expecting it to do!)
The laptop was in a pretty good condition only with signs of usage on top of the laptop but this is only decorative and nothing to do with the actual machine itself. I would recommend this laptop to any new person who doesnt know much about computers as it is a good beginning pc that would also suit students or people looking to delve into the world wide web.
Top notch laptop and can barely fault it. Worth the money that was paid for it!
Keeps my girlfriend happy.
Also, compared to newer machines, this laptop still has the efficiency to do the jobs it was bought for. Highly recommended in my eyes!

PRO'S
IBM make the best, useable, stable, reliable laptop pc's ever.
I use my IBM laptop for work and home every day, I also run a Karaoke disco from the very same one, it is on for around 6 hours every day.
Have been using them for 7 years now, my last was a T42, I now use a T61.
Brought the T40 for my son due to it's tried and tested reputation.
Never a problem putting to sleep instead of shutting down, for a super fast startup, and the best pc's for internet surfing mainly due to the page back and forward keys.
The keyboard led is also brill for using in the dark, very fast (if you make sure you have enough ram)
Never a problem with overheating (unlike some others that feel like you have a hot water bottle on yer lap)
Good solid hinges for the lid, makes it very robust.
The screen backlight is better quality than some laptops, others go darker after a couple of years.
Very easy to get spare parts for and work on, should you need to, I never have, but the company I work for have well over 100, and there is always one who spils something on one, or drops a spanner on the keyboard!
CONS
Not the sexiest looking laptop in the world.
Power lead comes straight out of the back, over time the wire will break if you dont look after it, but aint that the same for most (always unplug before moving).
All in all 9/10 highly reccomended

Great laptopI bought this as I own a thinkpad T21 which I have had for 10 years since buying it new in the US. And its still running great. I purchased the above as back up as I need something dependable running XP and at the price I got a bargain.
