Everybody gotta have a dream.

DJay (Terrence Howard) is a pimp whose gritty hustle selling sexy Nola (Taryn Manning) and supporting pregnant Shug (Taraji Henson) leaves him wondering if this is all there is for him.

When he learns that former local rapper turned superstar named Skinny Black (real life rapper Ludacris) is coming back to town for the 4th of July, DJay teams up with a frustrated sound engineer (Anthony Anderson) and a geeky musician (DJ Qualls) to put together a demo tape that he hopes will be his ticket to fame and fortune.

I decided to buy this film as i had seen trailers, i dont think it ever made UK cinema release as it dissappeared without a trace. So i was really happy to find it online, however the quality is not great it looks as if they had some budget issues. The storyline was pretty bland. The soundtrack is great but i wouldnt recommend the film.

For the first bit of the movie, you don't reckon it's all that. But as the story adapts it becomes quite an entertaining film indeed.
