Holes (DVD 2004)

Stanley Yelnats' Family are plagued by a curse thanks to Stanleys Great Grandfather and ever since, the men in the family have been in the wrong place at the wrong time! When Stanley is sent to Camp Greenlake for steeling a pair of trainers, he must dig one hole every day to "build character". 5" wide by 5" deep. If he finds anything interesting he must report it straight to the Warden. But why?
A brilliant twist filled movie that stays so true to the award winning bestselling book by Louis Sacher that it's possible to recognise lines picked straight from the text. It's a fantastic family movie with humour throughout and pleanty of heartwarming moments without being soppy.
With a truly brilliant cast consisting of Sigourney Weaver, Patricia Arquette and Shia Labeouf (from Transformers) you can't go wrong.
Would definatley recomend anyone at any age to watch this film!

A good film for all ages, I enjoyed seeing it again after studying it at school! A bit silly at times, a must for the children.

Excellent film for all the family. Im not quite sure what i expected as we watched this to help my sons interest in the book. I thought it was an extremely clever story which was adapted well and would appeal to all ages. Highly recommended.

This is one of those films that you end up watching at the cinema on a rainy day when there is nothing else to do. Well, that is what I thought when I took my 9-year-old son to see it. How wrong could I be. It was full of action from start to finish. The acting was excellent, with well known actors playing the heroes and baddies. Well done Disney for churning out yet another gem. Definitely a must for any DVD collection. Kids and adults alike will love it!

Great movie, really entertaining with a great storyline.
