Hitch Hike To Hell
Hitch Hike To Hell has one of the all time great film titles. It's an entertaining slice of Sixties American exploitation, dealing with a psychotic van driver killing hitch hikers and the police search for the killer I've wanted to see the film ever since reading a review of it in The Psychotronic Video Guide. I saw a copy for sale at a good price, bid on it and won. Th color is wonderfully garish, the acting is generally somewhat stilted, and like a lot of films it's somewhat reactionary and sexist, but I'm glad that I've seen it and own it. It's also not too explicit, despite the subject matter, has a great loony performance from Robert Gribbin as the psycho doted on by his awful mother and a real downer of an ending. It's a film that is obviously not for everyone, but if you like this kind of film it's well worth seeing.
