From Ray Reardon to Ronnie O' Sullivan, Cliff Thorborn to Alex Higgins, the game of snooker has always produced its share of characters in a sport seemingly stigmatised for its lack of them. This DVD takes a detailed look at the history of the green baize and re-collects some of the most memorable moments from the sport. Who could forget Dennis Taylor's black ball decider against the 'nugget', the pain of Jimmy White at the World Championships and his almost pre-determined destiny always to be the bridesmaid, and of course the most enigmatic of the all: The Hurricane.

THIS ITEM WAS REASONABLY PRICED AND P&P WAS REALISTIC. I GOT STUNG BUYING 2 SNOOKER DVDS BEFORE THIS ONE WHICH WERE ADVERTISED AS NEW ORIGINALS BUT WERE COPIES AND POOR COPIES INDEED. THE SELLERS HAVE SINCE BEEN STRUCK OFF FROM EBAY BUT AS THEY WERE XMAS PRESENTS I HAD TO BUY QUICKLY TO REPLACE THEM. THIS SELLER SOLD THE REAL THING AND POSTED IMMEDIATELY SO ARRIVED IN TIME FOR XMAS. IT WAS EXCELLENT SERVICE AND A BRAND NEW SEALED PRODUCT. WAS VERY PLEASED INDEED. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

  History of Snooker DVD
Review created: 05/10/06

I decided to buy this DVD because I am a keen snooker and billiards fan - not just of the modern day game but of players past and present. The content of the DVD is super, showing some very rare footage of players like Joe Davis and Walter Lindrum that I have certainly never seen before on TV. Picture quality is very good, however, the sound is fairly poor and needs to be turned to almost full volume to get something which is clearly audible. Despite this it is well worth having.
