my daughter loves high school so i brought it for her i love ebay its great value very easy to use and sells just about everything

MY CHILD LOVES THE MOVIE, SO I HAD TO GET IT, IT WILL BE ENJOYED FOR BIRTHDAY, IT IS A FEEL GOOD MOVIE, ENOUGH TO CHEER ANY CHILD UP.

My daughter is mad on High School Musical and its really brought a new side to her, she's sings and dances constantly which isnt a bad thing as ive discovered the girl has rhythm, but its very catchy and soon the whole family will be humming along, the kids love it!

I loved the film grease and this reminds me of a modern day version of the film. They have some great songs, my daughter liked the first high school musical film but went totally mad for this one, she is always singing the songs and I can't get them out of my head either. I bought the film for my daughter, who loves it and I quite like it too.

Upon being compelled to watch last year's Disney-movie songfest High School Musical, I cried. As in, I was moved to tears by the story of Troy (Hairspray's Zac Efron), a varsity basketball star who learns to love his inner crooner, thanks to Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens), a gorgeous mathlete. I am almost grotesque in my vulnerability to stories in which kids grow and love and explore their potential — as long as they do it with jazz hands and a lot of faux-motional singing. Don't even get me started on Maxwell Caulfield's haunting Grease 2 solo, ''Charades.''

In short, I am no snob about simplistic, low-bar, rainbow-colored sing-alongs. I wanted to enjoy High School Musical 2 as much as I enjoyed High School Musical: in moderation, with a pleasant blush and a benevolent, the-kids-are-alright smile. Well, bummer for me! This inevitable sequel — a third film is already in the works — feels too simplistic, too low-bar. (The colors are still pretty.) Troy and Gabriella and their Wildcat friends land summer jobs at the exclusive golf club owned by the parents of those showboating siblings, Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) and Ryan (Lucas Grabeel). That conniving Sharpay promptly starts wooing Troy with potential college scholarships and a cushy job as a golf pro! Much is made of this not-major moral dilemma. Troy misses a date with Gabriella; Troy practices with the university basketball team; Troy enjoys his new Italian golf shoes (it's always amusing when marketing juggernaut Disney lectures kids on acquisitiveness).

Unfortunately, the franchise is overly cautious about the image of its likable, tween-idol star: Mindful that eighth graders nationwide are daydreaming of Efron giving them their first kiss while holding a teddy bear who's holding a tiny Mylar balloon, Disney never lets the guy get too mean, too spoiled, or too...anything. By the time an enraged/ashamed/sun-fevered Troy is running across the golf course, dressed in black, jabbing and spinning while he sings a song I think is called ''Bet on It! (Bet on It! (Bet on It!))'' the issue is so confused, it's not even clear what the wager is. Ambition? Loyalty? Um...stuff?

Of course, musicals needn't rely on heavy storytelling, because they have music! Here, the songs range from silly fun (the tiara'd Sharpay sings a splashy ditty called ''Fabulous'') to really just awful (there's a massive dance number on a baseball diamond that's so surreally amateurish, Will Ferrell may be behind it). HSM2 wraps with wacky ''outtakes'' that sum up the whole movie: When they're genuinely goofy, they make you grin — but too much of it feels forced.

My kids loved it (me too lol) some great new songs and dances that we all got up and boogied to. Personally I think one was better, but still well worth watching.

This film is great fun, great for a girly night in! High School Musical 1 is equally good, I would reccommend them to everyone every age!

I personally do not like these films. They are really aimed at younger children and teens I believe. I have bought this film for my neice who is 6. and also my own daughter who is 18 still loves them.

they are catchy, but like many teen movies they cash in....from younger audience

My 4 year old daughter got this DVD for Christmas after I gave her Aunt and Uncle an idea for her pressie. Boy am I glad I did! This film has carried on the story from High School musical fairly well and although I would say for a sequel it's very good , it hasn't got quite the same level of catchiness to the tunes, I personally enjoy both films despite the fact I'm a 31 year old woman. Maybe I just haven't grown up yet ! This installment tells the tale of the teen dreams from East High School getting ready to make the leap into responsible semi-adulthood by taking on a Summer job during their vacation , each having their own reason for saving up some cash. Sharpay appears to have learned little from HSM and is still attempting to manipulate her way into the affections of others and manages to get Troy a job at her parent's health spa, Troy in turn manages to get jobs for his friends from the basketball team including best friend Chad and his now girlfriend Taylor and also of course Troy's own girlfriend Gabriella. This sets the scene for more shenanigans , dance numbers and singing whenever an emotion takes them over . Sharpay is set for another learning curve in the feelings of others as are Troy and Ryan , Sharpay's sidekick brother. Sharpay finds out that you can't make someone love you by giving them everything they could possibly want , Troy realises that you have to stay true to yourself and those around you , not changing because of your current circumstances and Ryan realises his own self worth , that he can be a force himself and doesn't need to live in Sharpay;s shadow for the rest of his life.
All in all this film has a lot of life lessons to teach young kids and is good clean fun for all the family . I love the Disney take on life , that everything is wrapped up nice and neatly by the end of each film and also the morality behind them , my 3 kids love this film and 2 of them are boys aged 9 and 6 , it's a universal pleaser and the characters are good clean role models for your kids to follow . I would have no hesitation in recommending this film to anyone looking for a film that can be put on the DVD player of a night and sat around with popcorn and sweets (or should I say candy since this is an all American film? ) All in all I'd give this film about 8/10 only because it wasn't quite as catchy as the original.

There's not a day that goes by without my 7 year old daughter watching this movie.

Catchy songs, happy characters and a simple storyline.

THIS FILM IS LOADS BETTER THAN ONE IT WAS MORE ENTERTAINING AND MORE SONGS (IT IS A MUSICAL AFTER ALL) THER WAS A BETTER STORY AND IT IS DEFINITLY A FILM TO WATCH OVER AND OVER (EVEN THOUGH I CAN DO THAT WITH THE FIRST ONE TOO) ITS ALSO A GREAT FAMILY FILM AS I AM THE PARENT AND I HAVE PROBABLY WATCHED IT MORE THAN MY KIDS HAVE...... MY 6YR OLD LOVES THE MUSIC AND DOESN'T MOVE AND MY 16YR OLD LOVES THE BOYS ASWELL AS THE SONGS AND ALSO DOESN'T MOVE EVEN MY SON IS A FAN SO A VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED FILM FOR ALL AGES

hate to say this but I am 37 and I sat and watched this with my two children aged 7 and 9 when it premiered on Disney channel. My son,9, has watched it so many times that he knows the words to the script and the songs off by heart.

I never thought much to the HSM songs but the story line was great. HSM2's songs are ten times better and a lot more addictive. I have downloaded them to my Ipod.

The story line is still a bit cheesy but it's every kids fantasy to star or have a summer like these lot do. I think it's the best musical that I have seen and it even beats 'Grease' and that's saying something!
Yes I know that I'm sad but you really don't want to miss this!

i love this film andso decied to buy it and treat my sel. this is a really good family film and would appeal to all of them.

My two little girls age 4 and 2 1/2 love this film, they haven't stopped singing and dancing since they watched it for the first time last week. Bringing my eldest on, as she attends ballet/tap classes and has just started dance/drama classes. I actually enjoyed the film aswell. A++++

as someone who has had to sit through all the highschool musicals over and over, i wasnt as fond of this one as i was the 1st and the 3rd. it was ok to watch but i felt it dragged on alot more than the other 2. overall it is ok to me :o) still fun to watch and great for children who like to move about while watching tv :o)

my daughter loves high school musical and she was dead chuffed to get high school musical 2 she had 1&3 i had been every where to get number 2 but could never find it but i was well pleased when i came across it on ebay after bidding i was chuffed i won it great i,ll always use ebay keep up the good work

36 days later and still not recieved this item . contacted seller and he is arrogant and not helping with the situation .So to be honest im put off buying off ebay again because this was my first purchase.

Purchased for the grandchildren. This genre of entertainment seems to be all the rage these days with the younger set. Just watching them enjoy this was pleasure in itself. I actually enjoyed myself !!!!

What can i say about this film, except excellent, my daughter watches it all the time where the disc dont play anymore as to the reason for buying this one.
