Album Notes Featuring ex-members of 1990s punk rock band Trenchmouth, the Eternals are a loose assembly from Chicago who mix funk, hip-hop, and dub reggae in a series of eccentric electronic soundscapes, with influences ranging from legendary Jamaican producer Lee Perry to fellow Chicagoans Tortoise. A boisterous collection of remixes and re-recordings, HIGH ANXIETY marshals the band's often chaotic sound in a dubwise direction, with assistance from Tortoise's John Herndon both on drums and in his A Grape Dope incarnation. "Silhouette," from RAWAR STYLE, features mysterious chants layered over guitar and drum loops, while "Billions of People," first heard on the band's self-titled debut, is a rootsy blend of hip-hop and reggae.
