When i first heard of Akira Kurosawa i just assumed it was one of them 1980 samurai movie directors, with over exaggerated fight sound effects and far too much bloody to be humanly possible. But after exploring and buying a few of his dvds i was convinced that Akira Kurosawa was possible the greatest movie director of all time!.
Hidden Fortress is possibly the highlights of Akira Kurosawa's career, starring Toshirô Mifune, one of Kurosawa's personal favorites. The thing i like about this film is that its not just about fighting, or samurai techniques, to be honest it has none of that, all of Kurosawa's film explore characters and how they meet and their adventures together and how they work together. This film puts together some of Kurosawas greatest characters and makes an explosion of a movie.
If your interested in exploring world cinema, or just a fan of Kurosawa's work, then this is the movie for you! I can recommend it to absolutely anyone!.
