In Her Shoes (DVD)

This is a great chick flick! For anyone who has a sister they will completley relate to this film! Its everything a girl would want from a film... shoes!! sisterly love, sisterly hate, men, romance, family issues, weight issues & too top it off a wedding! Sit back and relax with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates this film warrants a girly night in!!

Being a Cameron Diaz film you expect a chic flick but with a fair bit of comedy.

And this film??? Well sure it classes as a chic film but what it lacked hugely was the comedy factor.

It could potentially be a good film but i found it scattered the story line too much and went on a bit too. By the end i was practically climbing the walls willing it to end. If you are feeling down and wanna put on a film i wouldnt suggest this one, it'll make you feel worse!

I dont think its anything to do with the quality of the actors but it just really doesnt work. It doesnt have you clamped to your seat staring at the screen. If your a fan on Cameron Diaz films id say youll be disappointed. Stick to Something about MAry and such like. These are far better

well, i woke up one morning with the ebay fever and leaped out of bed and into my chair: its quite soft so i can stay on ebay for hours! it spins around too so if i get bored from waiting for two hours to pass before i win an item, i can spin until im so dizzy i forget where i am!
I decided to look for a DVD as i love staying at home with a bag of popcorn watching a movie, and of course going to the cinema. However, is it me or have ticket prices become rediculously over-priced!
I love watching romantic comedies as they make me feel good inside and nothing ever goes wrong (if it does, it always works itself out in the end)! or girly movies- they are the same thing basically!
I did'nt really have a specific movie in mind, so i just typed in romantic comedy and ebay did the rest!
i looked at loads, many of the same thing. so many different starting prices and bids.
Then i saw this one! i had heard of it when it was on in the cinema, therefore decided to buy it! i think it was a buy it now one, which was quick and easy to do.
within a few days i recieved it. I popped it into my dvd player, snuggled under my blanket, sipping hot chocolate.
as i watched it, it skipped; which was annoying, but this happened to this particular dvd not all will do this! ;-)

the movie was ok. it wasnt the best i'd seen, but not at all the worse. (its an advantage if you have a sister, but everything is explained well.

it is about two sisters who are so different, and want it that way; untill they find out they have a grandmother they did'nt know about.
The sisters have a big row and the younger sister spends time alone with their grandmother, whilst the elder sister stays at her home.
during the time apart, you can see a more serious and dedicated side to the younger sister (the elder's influence), and a fun, more spontanious side to the elder sister (younger's influence). it all comes together in the end, when everyone realises they all need each other, and they all live happily ever after!

If you want to see every extra detail which you may have missed, watch the extras on the dvd where the director and writer etc. explain things.

overall i gave it an average rating, but i think its one of those that you should see if you've seen all your dvd's loads of times and want something a bit different.

This is probably the best film I have seen for ages. It made me laugh and made me cry. The film is about two totally different sisters of size and character. Both different life styles who just don't get on. Cameron Diaz was a brilliant actress in this film a must for all too see. I could watch this again and again.

a real girls film that will have you laughing one minute and then crying the next,seriously excellent film, not to be missed!!

I originally purchased In Her Shoes from ebay for a number of reasons. A) - I didn't have the patience to wait for it to come out on UK DVD B) I didn't want to pay top whack for the DVD when it came out anyway and C) I was in the frame of mind where i really wanted to see it "Right NOW!". You can always guarantee a good buy from ebay as well, and with the benefit of a multi-region DVD player I thought, Why not?.

I am an avid Diaz/Collette Fan - from There's Something About Mary to Connie and Carla, there hasn't been a movie with these two in that I haven't enjoyed.

Until I sat through In Her Shoes.

Well, I say sat through..I made lunch and several drinks in between time, WITHOUT pausing the movie. Quite simply, because there is nothing to miss!
To say I was utterly disappointed is an understatement. It starts of well in comparison to the rest of the movie...Diaz plays the bubbly younger sister with learning difficulties *weep weep sob sob*, who ends up working in a nursing home after finding her long lost granny..or something like that, while her sister, Collette, plays the business woman, who is so insecure and under-confident about her appearance in comparison to her sister, that she splurges all her money on her apartment and GORGEOUS shoes, until she finally meets her man and she gets over it. THAT IS ALL THE MOVIE IS ABOUT!

Undoubtedly, the best part of the movie is when we are priviledged to a sneak inside the fabulous Shoe closet..that's about the only highlight of the movie. Everything else has been seen before and done to death, and although i was fairly patient and waited for the climax of the movie to happen, it never did. Both actresses are undermined in this movie, and I would even go as far as to say it makes Diaz seem to be a BAD actress.

All in all, I was bitterly let down, but, hey, don't take my word for it - Some people love sitting through a drawn-out, boring movie for thrills!

I thought this was an excellent chick flick.
The story isn't as contrived as some you see and you do see the characters making genuine mistakes.
I expecially liked the performance of Toni Collette and I think they manage to portray the hurt and upset she feels with her sisters behaviour well.
It certainly makes you smile and having seen it with my husband...he would also recommend it too.

If you have a sister you will be able to relate to this film. Maybe the relationship is take to the extreme but you can see the simularities none the less. Really good feel good film, quite simple story line but had us laughing the whole way through. perfect to watch with the girls, even better to watch with your sister!

This film is such a great film, so much is happening in it which makes you stuck to the screen. Its got so much emotion in it you feel for them in the film. Its funny aswell, I love watching it over and over again. I recommend you to buy this film.

I liked the look of the film because you could see it was about two very different sisters and very different characters. It is very realistic and the audience can relate to the different characters in this film. Worth seeing as it is nice film. Not the best I have seen and not absolutely brilliant, but it is still good.

A light, easy to watch movie.A good family relationship plot.Any movie that has Toni Colette and Shirley McLaine is a must see..

Loved this movie, a definate "chick-flick". Funny and sad, could see people I know in most characters! And what girl doesn't LOVE shoes!???? Easy viewing, good all rounder.
Good transaction, arrived promptly, no hasstle.

This is another great film. The story of Love & Hate between sisters - One has it all and the other thinks she has it all or do they?
Catching your sister with your boyfriend is enough for Cameron Diaz to be ejected from her sisters life - but that seem's to be the reality check that she needed and when she moves in with her Grandmother her life seems to take a turn she wasn't quite expecting. A lovely night in with the popcorn film.

a great entertaining film for all the girlies!! with two great actresses toni collette and cameron diaz!! if you want a movie night in then this one should definatley be on the list!!.

An enjoyable chick flick. Showing not only the differences between sisters but in women in general. Though a bit old Cameron Diaz does a fairly good imitation of coming of age, growing up finally and out of her "I'm gorgeous and can get what I want." attitude. Easy watching, amusing and sad.

this was an easy to watch typical chick flick-i was alittle disappointed as i expected it to be better than it was.if you want to chill out with some girly mates and watch a film while only half watching the film and half chatting then this is the film for you!

A real chick flick with loads of laughs and plenty of tissue moments.
Cameron Diaz was enough bait for my husband to watch and he found it funny too.
I had seen clips on other dvd's and as a huge fan of Toni Collette decided to add it to my collection.

Excellent film. Some sad bits, which actually made me cry! But in the end it's a great comedy, with unexpected twists, and a happy ending. What more could you want from a movie?

I feel totally ripped off by the seller and ebay.I am lucky i only parted with £3.50 to buy the CD which was a copy that just made noise.I emaied the seller who returned my email and said he would send another i am still waiting. He made sure to cash the cheque.I will no longer buy through ebay as it is too risky.

Basically i thought it would be a good girly film that would be funny yet have some drama in it as it has Toni Colette and Cameron Diaz in it who are both great actresses. I was not dissapointed. A great film that i would happily watch many times over in the future.

Really enjoyed the film, an ordinary story, no upsetting violence, drugs, sex; good acting, Shirley MacClaine`s humour,Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette both gave enjoyable performances.

This movie was a mediocre chick flick, i have to say i have seen better!
It had some stupidly funny bits and some serious issues between sister-sister rivalry was embarked upon!
Not to mention some lush shoes!)
But overall i have given it an average rating as i hadnt expected much from the title and i was given much from the movie!
But im sure plenty of other girls would love this chick flick!

This is a great film, but rather long. Its one of those films where the audience is waiting to see what happens next. Lots of the film was boring or nothing much happening. When something did happen it was very funny, which made up for the boring parts. I would say this is a romantic comedy.

Recommended film for women. A film to watch with your girl friends. Watch it and judge for yourselves.
