Trojan war gets recent Hollywood mini series makeover
I love costume drama, and I'm not sure whether I first saw this before or after watching "Troy". I liked the latter, but I think I slightly preferred this version of the Trojan war, as it has a menacing Rufus Sewell as Agamemnon and while not necessarily sticking exactly to the Greek myths, it didn't allow Paris to escape being killed which did happen in "Troy". This production was very well made and I did enjoy it quite a lot. I would have preferred Menelaus to be more menacing or at least more thickset, rather than the slender James Callis (Dr. Gaius Baltar in new Battlestar Galactica). I always thought of the character as being agressive and none too bright, rather than whingy and ineffectual.
I would recommend it to people who like costume drama, but aren't too bothered about whether it is accurate to the source material or not.
