Hatchet (DVD)

Well.............what can I say? KANE HODDER (aka JASON VORHEES) returns in the goriest film I've seen in a long time. Twisting off heads, sandblasting faces and generally giving it some welly in this tale of a disfigured youth accidently 'killed' by his Dad.

Great gore - gimme more!

If you are into serial killer,teen slash films then hatchet is your film.
Set in the swamps of New Orleans with a boat full of misfits and a legendary "myth" that is the deformed and mentally unstable Victor Crowley,you have got yourself a horror epic.
The storyline is genuinely funny where it should be,very jumpy and some of the most original and gory deaths you could'nt imagine.
Hatchet takes us back to the old school horror flicks of Friday 13th and the burning.
There are even cameos from Robert England,and more.
If you love horror,you will love hatchet.
Catch this original horror before many dodgy sequals are made.

I saw the trailer for this film a while ago and remembered that it looked like it could be quite gory, so I gave it a go.
The film starts off like a standard lower budget horror film, then the opening credits rolled. Mayilyn Manson played loud - could this actually be a deceiptively good film??
The synopsis is quite basic really. A group of mainly young people go on a boat ride and, shock - horror, they end up stranded with a killer on the loose. Although you could easily say this has all been done before (including the nudity!), it is fun to watch this film for the ways that the people are killed.
There are some gorey scenes in this film which may shock some people, but if you are a fan of the horror / gore genre like myself then you will probably enjoy this yarn.
It is also refreshing to have a non-Hollywood ending(albeit a little abrupt).
The main film only lasts for 75 mins-ish but I enjoyed i!
The extras are good as well - including how the made the horror effects etc.
In short, this is a fun film that is not to be taken very seriously and definately not for the squeemish.

You can tell from the off that this film was meant solely to entertain. Over the top gore, hilarious stereotypical characters and some of the most inventive deaths you'll see. (who's ever heard of a gas powered sander? :P) It's funny and light-hearted so die-hard horror fans may be disappointed. However, for people like me, who just want to laugh at people dying in the most gruesome ways possible, it's great!

classic horror film a must have for any horror film fanatic,not for the faint hearted. i recommended that you invest in this film.
