Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets (DVD 2003)

Before I continue with this review I just want to make one thing clear: I did enjoy this film, it’s a great family movie. However, I just find that it tries to cram in too much at once and the subtleties of the story as told in the book are lost. Sure, I appreciate that this may be unfair as a book as an almost infinite amount of time but there are certain aspects of the story (don’t worry, I won’t give anything away!) that just aren’t made clear and without reading the book a viewer may not ever truly understand. Although it’s not as good as The Philosopher’s Stone, this is a very watchable and enjoyable movie although some may get a little lost (especially younger viewers but they will enjoy the action) and Harry Potter fanatics will be saying “that’s not like it is in the book”.
