Hard Candy (DVD)

This film is a hang on to the edge of the seat thriller. The sort of film that keeps you griped all the way through. There are many twists and turns some very unexpected. I recommend this to any one who likes a good thriller with out all the gore of a horror. The characters are really good and the acting is great. I recommend you get this film and in the unlikely event you don't like it just resell it.

Ok, so it's got a really catchy gimmick - dodgy older guy picks up younger girl on the internet and takes her back to his place.... big surprise is: she makes him the victim!
Ok, so that gets the attention of the average viewer, but this film meets that intriguing premise and outdoes itself in droves. The acting is outstanding with Ellen Page proving even before Juno that she is going to be HUGE.
I can't say its enjoyable viewing, but it will have you trawling your mind for where you stand on some deeply troubling issues and questioning how comfortable you feel watching the scenario unfold.
If you watch this film, and get up at the end with no questions in your mind... then you're not human.

When i bought this DVD i hadnt seen the film, and there was a mixture of both good and bad reviews on it. However i had seen the trailers and couldnt wait to see the film. All i can say is that i wasn't disappointed. Brilliant acting by both the lead characters and a fantastic story. i would recommend this to anyone who likes a good film.

I really enjoyed the film it was very unusual, thought provoking and quite shocking the actors were excellent and very believable.

An excellent psychological thriller that can also be described as provocative which leaves the viewer with lots to think about with its storyline which could also be classed as controversial.

Speaking to people over the internet can be dangerous territory. Hard Candy is number one for an explicit account of a teenage girl who decides to meet up with an older man whom she'd been speaking to via the web. The story takes a surprising turn, as the characters turn out to be somewhat different than first expected. It is a must-have film and a thrilling watch!

brilliant film. saw it at the cinema and had to buy it to show my mate. the main character is brilliant, her part was spot on. love her films now.

Refrence from a friend... not as brilliant as i thought... but if you are into pure good acting this is brilliant...! :) Juno is AMAZING in it!

Originally saw this in the cinema and loved it.
Watching for a second time I noticed so much more, there's a lot gone into this film- a real critics choice.
Not for you if you're after a light hearted flick but if you want something that's going to provoke you then go for it!

This film is fantastic, i got it recommended by my friend who is also an ellen page fan and we ended up buying it together! Its edgy and a bit scary at times. Also a bit confusing! I loved this film! i recommened it for anyone who loves Ellen Pages (Juno) Work

The reviews I had read about this film portrayed it to be a tense, dramatic edge of the seat pure horror. I found it, in the main, rather tedious and boring, it certainly didnt keep me on the edge of my seat, never mind glued to the screen. I found it all a bit far fetched and dull.The 'supposed' castration scene did have me ready to cover my eyes, and I did find that part scary. However, that particular part of the film went on, and on, and so lost all effect. Over all, seeing a small '14' year old girl overpower a strong, healthy man time and again made the whole thing very unreal.
If you are looking for a gritty, realistic horror movie, I would not personally recommend this particular film.

A totally engrossing film from start to finish. The actress Ellen Page is fantastic as a cute innocent teenager who then turns in a no nonsense pychopath extracting revenge. A must see. I loved it.

This film is really good because it sustains the viewer's interest without the use of a grand cast or extreme settings. In truth this film has a very small cast and takes place in only two settings, yet there is so much shocking and smart things happening in this film. I like it because the actors are superb and because even though i have seen this film many times, every time i watch it new questions pop into my head, so it is a film that keeps you thinking. Also this movie lives in the grey area, most films live in the black and white, because you generally know who the bad guy is and you know who the good guy is, but in this film that role constantly changes between the two characters. In short it is a really different,sometimes scary and intelligent film, that does not put you to sleep.

This film has fantastic casting, and portrays a reversal of a much publicised and disturbing situation in this day and age. Certain scenes may be a bit much for the squemish, but still one of the best films I have ever seen.

one of the most amazing film i've ever watched! i was at the edge of my sit from the start of the trailer till the end of the movie! it has won awards and i can see why.. it's a psychological thriller that'll glue your eyes on it. amazing actors, amazing storyline with an amazing ending. bid on it. watch it and love it. i've watched it 3 times already and i still can't get enough.

WILD!! I DECIDED TO GET THIS MOVIE BECAUSE IT HAD GOOD RATINGS, BUT I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS GOING TO BE AS CRAZY AS IT WAS! YOU KIND OF GET A WEE BIT BORED IN THE MIDDLE, THEN BAM! EDGE OF YOUR SEAT!! THE KIND OF MOVIE YOU CAN WATCH AGAIN & AGAIN IN AMAZMENT!LOL JUST WILD! KEEPS YOU GUESSING TO! KINDA ERY TOO IN A SPOOKY KINDA WAY! I LOVED IT! DEFINETLEY WORTH THE CASH & THE TIME TO WATCH IT!

My girlfriend wanted to see this film so badly and i thought it would be rather boring, you know nothing that special but hahaha i was wrong, i won't give away thee story but here is a clue when watching the film MAKE SURE YOU CLEARLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THE GIRL WAS ACTING LIKE INT HE START OF THE FILM! This film has such a twist i would never of guessed it for £1 Billion GBP!!!!

A great night in with your gf or wife or lite horror movie, well recommended.
