Hannibal Rising (DVD)

I found this dvd to be as excellent as Silence of the Lambs. It was gripping from the start to the end. It gives a full explanation and insight into Hannabal Lecter's dark mind and the reasons for his muderous nature and cannibalism. A must see dvd

I am a very big fan of the Hannibal series and have followed it from day one.
My intention was to collect the entire series i.e.
The Silence Of The Lambs.
Hannibal.
Red Dragon.
Hannibal Rising.

I had the first 3 and decided to search for H R on Ebay.

I found it and won the auction.
The film is absolutely fab and just as blood thirsty as the rest.

"Sir" Anthony Hopkins is one of the best actors of all time without doubt and he set the bar high for any man whom stepped into the "Hannibal Lecter" shoes.
Whom ever plays or played Hannibal after Hopkins would have to be a "Special" kind of actor.

I believe in Hannibal Rising, they found that man.
Mr Gaspard Ulliel was Perfectly cast as the young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising and his presence and acting alone makes this film worth watching.
Sit back and enjoy this film for the masterpiece it is.

Well acted story. Generally stuck to the original book. Less gruesome than I had thought, but perhaps that's not a bad thing. Having read the book, listened to the audio book, it was the logicial final step. Enjoyed all three.

I liked the film, good acting, but this film dosen't keep you on the edge of your seat like Silence of the Lamb, but still entertaining in its own right, story line keeps you interested. It was a bit blood thirsty at times, but it explains why Hannibal is the way he is.
